ONE YEAR LATER...
Taehyung was nervous.
It was only natural. Today was the big day. The one that both you and him had been waiting for all year.
Today, your design studio finally opened, with you as director and him as the lead artist and design consultant - and he was absolutely bricking it.
You, on the other hand, seemed to thrive under pressure. Taehyung could tell you were nervous, but it was the good kind of nerves, the kind where you get to see the thing you've been working for night and day for a whole year finally come to fruition. Every day this week, Taehyung had woken up to find you were already up, already in the lounge of your apartment making calls or down at the studio to put in the finishing touches.
This morning, on the day of the opening, was no different. You were gone entirely by the time Taehyung awoke, gone to the studio itself to make sure everything was in place for the grand opening party. Taehyung would be meeting you there in a few hours.
He padded out into the kitchen, pacing it for something to do to expend his nervous energy. Normally, he would brew himself a coffee and drink it before even contemplating doing anything else, but not today. Today he couldn't risk the coffee fraying the edges of his nerves.
Instead, he went across the hall, to his old apartment. The one he used to share with his brother, Jin, until he gave up pretending that he spent any more time there, and moved into yours with Yeontan instead.
Not that his brother was lonely, of course. In fact, as Taehyung let himself in this morning, he saw Jin and Namjoon curled around each other in the kitchen - Namjoon cooking delightful-smelling pancakes at the stove, and Jin with his arms wrapped around his waist from behind, seeming to just enjoy his boyfriend's company.
