Nicki's POV

I mean, it's normal for a bride's mom or a friend to protest a wedding, but the way everybody was looking at him at entrance was just... Ugh! I just shook my head.

"What is your reason, ma'am?" The priest asked my mother. Here we go...

"Onika, I love you and all but I can't let you go on with this without one last talk. Do you really want to spend the rest of your life with him? Is he the one for you?" She gave a pause and I remained silent as I knew what she was trying to do. "I'm not gonna tell you what to do. you know where home is. Follow your heart."

My mom sat back down. To be honest, I was kind of expecting a ear-pulling speech from her. The priest nodded at her in understanding.

"You, young man? What is your reason?"

"Us. Our history." The people in church gasped as Drake ran up to me. He took my hands that were still holding the bouquet of flowers. "Nicki, you know I love you more than anything and I never stopped loving you. You're the love of my life and I can't let you do this to me. You chose to marry this guy, but I know deep down it isn't what you really want. I know I made mistakes. Big mistakes. Shit, biggest mistakes of my life. But babe, please don't do this. Don't go ruin your life because of me. Because I wasn't a man enough for you."

The priest shook his head and looked at Shanell. "And you Miss?"

"Nicki, I'm sorry, I can't let you do this." She said to me with a very stern face. Almost as if she was on some serious Tea.

"What are you talking about?" I asked her confused.

"The truth is, Safaree is Shaelise's dad."

Did I hear that right? "What?"

"Safaree is my baby daddy."

I couldn't believing my ears, like, seriously? I looked back and forth between the two with tingling eyes before I lost it.

"You bitch!" I could care less if we're in God's house right now. I jumped on Shanell's face. For a few seconds of fighting, it was intense. Drake was the one to separate us. He pulled me by my waist as I was still trying to come for her. Her hair was a totally mess and by the way she was rubbing her cheek I bet it was hurting a lot. I could still feel my hand stinging from the slap I gave her. Lucky for her she wasn't wearing her nose chain or else she'd be getting stitches right now.

"Shanell..." I felt a tear running down my cheek. "How could you do this to me?"

"I told you we were drunk. I didn't want to cause you this much trouble. I only found out you two were engaged weeks later."

"Didn't want to cause this much trouble? Well thanks a lot for ruining my wedding. If I knew he was the father of your child then I'd call off my engagement because I don't do baby daddies. What kind of friend sleeps with her friend's boyfriend?"

"Now hold up. When that happened you two were on a break. He was the one who came up to me. Don't blame it on the fact that he went back to you."

"Does it matter?" I finally broke free from Drake's grip and stood in front of Safaree. "And you Safaree! I thought, I thought you really loved me. I thought your intentions were pure when you asked me to marry you. But I was wrong. You just wanted to claim me before this mess exploded to my face... Everything you said to me was just sweet talk to, huh?"

"Nic..." He tried to reach my arm but I slapped his hand away.

"Don't fucking touch me. You two are such backstabbers!"

I broke down on the floor crying my eyes out. Never in my life I've felt so betrayed. For years I thought that nothing couldn't have been more perfect, yet I was living in fraudulent world. A world full of lies.
