And the salt in my wounds isn't burning anymore than it used to

It's not that I don't feel the pain it's just I'm not afraid of hurting anymore

And the blood of these veins isn't pumping any less than it ever has

And that's the hope I have the only thing I know that's keeping me alive

A week passes and you still haven't called back Namjoon. You weren't sure how you wanted to handle that, and in doing so, creating this awkward time-gap that makes things a lot more strange for when you do figure out what you wanna do. Your thoughts are interrupted as you see Jimin's name flash across your phone screen.

He was video-calling you once again, probably because he had some insane intuitive nature to know when you're feeling down. You answer the call and force a smile onto your face, hoping it would mask the strange feeling stirring within you.

"Hey Chimmy." You greet in a bright tone.

Jimin's features coat over with concern. "Don't take this the wrong way, pipsqueak, but you look terrible."

Your expression flattens as you narrow your stare at him. "Gee, thanks Jimin." You dryly mutter.

His expression shifts into a sheepish one before saying, "I'm sorry, but it just looks like you've been crying since the last time we spoke. What's going on?"

You hadn't told him about Namjoon, and you weren't in a rush to tell him either. So, you exhale a deep breath before saying, "It's nothing. The new term is just more demanding compared to last year."

His brows pull together as he stares back with faint skepticism. "Since when does your academics get the best of you? The pipsqueak I know can power through finals week without batting an eye."

You offer a shrug because he makes a good point. Jimin knows that no amount of school work would make you look so worn down.

"C'mon, what's really bothering you?" He presses.

You sigh in annoyance. "Just drop it, okay? If I say my classes are demanding then just believe me." You snap back.

Jimin stares back in disbelief. "Listen, I don't know what's got you in a mood, but you can tell me. You know I won't ever judge you." He assures you, voice filled with both warmth and concern.

You want to cry because you know this–you know Jimin wouldn't judge you nor would he make you feel worse about a situation you were struggling with. You know, to some extent, if you were to tell him about Namjoon contacting you, he'd be understandably upset but give you the space you need to process it. You hated feeling like your situation held no clear answer, and that no matter what you choose, you'd somehow be the one getting hurt.
