EPISODE 02 : THE MAN IN THE STRAW HAT ( The Golden Egg )
BIG, RED, AND unable to miss are the three ways Estrella would use to describe Buggy the Pirate's face — Or his nose, to be more exact.
Estrella recognized it from the second he stepped into the limelight, makeup-smeared face illuminated into that clown-esque look he was going for.
She couldn't lie, he was a strange man — Is he a pirate, or a clown? Pick a side! — with an even stranger personality.
"Stop clapping!" The man roars to the crowd, face twisted in a snarl. "No, stop! It's all wrong!"
Estrella watches from Luffy's side, glaring at the clown-like pirate.
"The spotlight was late. You completely missed my entrance." The man points to himself as the spotlight shifts from the prisoners to him. "And where, oh, where was the dancing lion?"
He menacingly steps up to the man in the lion costume, who shudders and looks away.
"Hey," Luffy pipes up, and Estrella whips her head around to look at him. "I know you. I saw your wanted poster in Shells Town. You're the clown guy. Um, uh — Binky, right?"
Normally, Estrella would've laughed — It was always her name being butchered, so it always felt nice whenever people messed up the names of others — but right now she's so upset over her stolen weapon that nothing is particularly funny.
"Buggy." The pirate corrects, taking a few steps towards them. "Buggy the Clown. Buggy, the Flashy Fool. Buggy — the Genius Jester."
Has Estrella mentioned that she hates monologues? Well, there's a reminder, because they are the singular most annoying thing a person can say. She doesn't care about anybody's boring, sad, pitiful life — She already has her own, and Estrella doesn't go around telling everyone about it.
"Wow." Luffy breaths out, impressed. "You have a lot of names. I bet everyone in the East Blue knows who you are."
The audience gasps, their eyes flickering in terror at the straw hat's words. Estrella knits her brows together in confusion.
Buggy's lips stretch into a snarling grin. "What did you just say?"
"Just that everyone knows who you are." The man repeats blankly.
"Nose?!" Buggy screeches, his gloved hand wrapping itself around Luffy's jaw.
Estrella's eyes flicker over to the acrobats and circus performers beginning to emerge from the shadows, carrying weapons and their faces twisted in snarls. She takes a step back, her shoulder accidentally making contact with the green-haired pirate hunter standing behind her.
Without a glance, she sidesteps Zoro, standing a few centimeters away from the swordless swordsman.
"Are you making fun of my nose?" The clown pirate whispers, his yellowing teeth bared.
