EPISODE 02 : THE MAN IN THE STRAW HAT ( Chop-Chop Pirate )
AFTER DEALING WITH a bunch of shitty lackeys, Estrella, Zoro, and Nami walk back into the tent.
The first thing her eyes catch sight of is the giant tank in the middle of the room — A certain curly haired pirate contained inside.
Estrella feels her insides squirm as she watches Luffy's body slowly sink to the floor. They are both cursed, and the price to pay is steep. Mother Ocean turned her back on Estrella's life long ago — It seems she did the same for Luffy as well.
Through the bubbling water, Luffy catches Estrella's eye and he grins. He looks distorted in the greenish blue waters, but his smile is still bright. As if he knows that there's someone coming for him.
With his last remaining strength, the straw hat taps the glass with his finger, and Nami flings her staff towards the glass box, the impact point creating a million tiny little cracks into the glass.
Like a spiderweb, the cracks crawl until they overtake the front side of the box, and with the pressure of the water, bursts open like a dam.
"Where are my freaks?!" Buggy screeches.
Estrella pulls herself out of the shadows from behind Nami, and Zoro does the same. Her face contorts into a conniving grin as she lifts up the head of one of Buggy's men, the skin pulled taught around his slackened jaw, open as though screaming, golden in color.
"They're not coming." Zoro smirks under his breath as Estrella tosses the head to roll at the pirate clown's feet.
The glass box completely shatters, and Luffy is sent tumbling into shards of thin needle-like glass. Estrella quickly sheathes her weapon and hops down the steps, stopping right when her feet were almost in contact with the straw hat's mess of wet curls.
"You okay — Ugh!" Estrella retracts her worry and takes on an expression of disgust as Luffy begins coughing and retching like a dying feline, and a thick golden crest appears from the back of his throat.
The more he heaves, the further the cylinder gets out of his mouth, and Estrella realizes with a sour taste in her own mouth that it's the Grand Line map. With one final retch, the golden tube goes sliding a few meters away.
"My map!" Buggy grunts from the floor, having been pushed by the force of the water.
"My hat." Luffy says in contrast, and Estrella looks between the two.
Then she sprints for the map as she sees Buggy's hands reaching for it, fingers outstretching, almost touching the cool metal — Buggy pulls the map out of her grasp a second too early, standing up and laughing triumphantly.
Mirth fills his malevolent eyes, rotted teeth splayed for the crowd of onlookers to gaze upon.
Estrella growls lowly and her hand goes to her sword, pulling out the blade with her hand steady on the hilt.
