EPISODE 01 : ROMANCE DAWN ( Hands Of Midas )
THE SEA DID not bend to Estrella's weak-willed wishes, nor did it open forth to her pleas. Mother Ocean had renounced her powers from her blood and drained Estrella entirely.
The place in which she was born had filled her with rocks and pebbles, and Estrella Narváez became a servant to the Earth. She was no longer favored by the Sun, nor the Sea as it had once so kindly loved her.
Though her destiny lay with the Sun, Estrella would forever love the water as she loved those which she had been born from.
Even as Mother Ocean drowned Estrella, her body sinking like the sacrifice her homeland had made her into, she still loved.
And that love was the only love Estrella Narváez thought she could ever give, for she despised love - that of human nature that crumbled into nothing more than sugar-coated words. Because of this, love also despised her.
MOTHER OCEAN IS a vast unknown, running for miles till Estrella could no longer distinguish where it connects to the sky.
Though today, she cannot see her cultivator nor her creator, for she is hidden away from Death in order to outsmart it.
Estrella ignores the gentle rocking of the boat, her breaths silent as she focuses her dark eyes to the small ray of light protruding from the planks of the wood.
She cannot tell whether this godsend is from the Moon or the Sun, but she gratefully accepts and allows such a small inkling of light to act as her eyes.
There is more than just silence on this ship. Estrella hears it in the creak of the floorboards and the roll of a barrel.
She is not alone.
"I can hear you." The woman grips her sword gingerly, turning to face whatever would slip out of the wriggling barrel to her left.
At first, there is no movement. Estrella takes a step closer, cautiously.
With a loud clatter, out pops a head of dark curls and a yellow straw hat. Estrella blinks.
"Who are you?" She asks, and her sword finds itself pointing at his chest.
The man is roughly the same height as Estrella, with a scar under one eye and a large, carefree smile plastered onto his face.
He did not seem tethered to any particular place, as free as the birds that fly beside the Sun.
"I'm Monkey D. Luffy." His voice is like that of those from Estrella's homeland, rich and strong.
