Calum and Nick were in Nick's room, Calum was trying to read his book laying upside down with Nelly curled up in his leg.
Nick was busy texting on his phone.
After dropping the book for the third time, Calum gave up and faced Nick. "Why are you so sad?" He asked.
Nick turned his phone of facing Calum, "what?"
"You look so out of it since the car ride, what happened with Charlie?" He asked.
Nick didn't know what to say. It wasn't his story to tell, it was personal. But it was Calum, and he had a way of finding things out on his own.
Calum spoke again, cutting Nick's thoughts off, "It's okay if you can't say. Just tell me if you're okay or not... Is he okay?"
Nick sighed, "It's-- a lot. He said he's okay though. I'm sorry, I really can't tell you."
Calum shook his head, "That's okay. I get it, it's not your story to tell-- AAH Nelly NO!" Calum shouted when Nelly licked his feet.

"You sure you don't wanna stay for sometime?"
Calum shook his head, "If I don't go now, the sun will change and I'll have to start all over again, and believe me when I say, I do not want to start all over again."
Calum ran down the stairs occasionally tripping once or twice. "Breakfast?" Nick's mum Sarah offered.
Calum looked at the dining table which had scrambled eggs and breakfast burritos. "The sun's gonna change!" Calum sighed, "but the food looks so good. But I'm not hungry, but I also don't want it to get wasted..." He rambled.
The Nelson's chuckled when the boy started pouting, "what if I pack you a box? You won't be late, yeah?" Sarah asked.
Calum's pout completely vanished as he nodded, "Oh! Mrs Nelson, what did I do to deserve you! I love you, thank you!" He ran and hugged the woman.
Calum went to Nick who was packing the lunchbox, "can... can you not add that much? If there's too much in it, I won't finish it." He told them.
Nick nodded.
The boy grabbed the lunch box and rushed out, almost pushing Charlie in the process, "Oi! Charlie! I'm so sorry!"
Nellie rushed to the door to find out where Calum was going, and to visit the new guest that had arrived. "Hey." Nick smiled at Charlie.
Charlie took his beanie out, "hey." He smiled at the pair.
"Uh... This is Nellie."
Charlie bent down to greet Nellie and Calum watched as they became fast friends. "Hey, Nellie! You're so adorable!"
When Charlie stood up, Nick noticed, "You got a haircut." He pointed out as he went to check the length.
"Um... Is it..." Charlie chuckled, "Is it bad?" He asked.
Nick shook his head, "No, you look..." He thought for a second before changing his sentence, "It looks great."
Calum chuckled under his breath, "As much as I love the budding friendship happening here, I'm late and I gotta go. Are you staying for lunch?" Calum asked Charlie.
"I think so."
"Great! See you then." And with that Calum patted Nellie and ran out.
