Nick was sitting on his bed next to Calum, and the boy was making him watch a video called How to not fall into the world of Peer Pressure.

A lot of things were keeping Nick Nelson up, where as Calum was fast asleep curled up with Nellie and blankets.

Charlie Spring being one of the main reasons for the cause for Nick's anxiety. The guilt of saying yes to Imogen was eating him up. Plus he would also be hurting Imogen, his best friend.

Nick was about the turn the half watched video off when Calum shuffled, twisting and turning, "did you finish it?" He mumbled half asleep, his throat dry as his jokes.

Nick sighed, "I will."

Surprisingly... well not really, due to the rain and the sprained ankle, Calum had gotten himself sick, so Sarah had only dropped Nick to school, who was currently talking things out with Imogen.

"About our date..." He turned to face her, "See, I wasn't sure if..." it was then when he noticed the girl sniffling, and crying, "Are you okay?" He asked.

She turned to face him, "My dog died last night." She told him.

He instantly looked down, now he had no idea what to do. "Um... I'm so sorry." He said.

"He was really old so, like, we knew it was coming." She told him as she showed him a picture of his dog. "I loved him so much." She sniffled, "This is the worst week ever." She admitted.

"Yeah." Nick agreed.

"What were you gonna say about her date?" She asked.

Nick couldn't do this. There was no way he wou-- could tell her no. Not right now. So he shook his head and said Nothing.

"So you didn't say no?"

Nick continued to scroll his phone, "Her dog died, Cal. What was I supposed to say?"

"No?"

Nick's phone showed a photo from Imogen's account, featuring a photo of him and her, as he continued to scroll, it was a photo of Charlie along with Elle, holding up a peace sign. "That's some alternate fate shit." Calum said as he peaked into the phone.

Calum's fever had gone down, thanks to Sarah, but the boy still had to wear the medicated bandage for his sprain. He was on the dining table with his blanket, Nellie cuddled next to Nick. "Had a good day, Nicky?" Sarah asked.

"Mmm." He responded.

"What's up?" Sarah noticing the shift in his mood asked.

Nick looked at his mom, "I said I'd go on a date with this girl, but I kind of also agreed to go to Charlie's birthday party with Cal on the same day."

"When did that happen? When did I agree?" Calum's hoarse voice drew attention to both the Nelsons.

Sarah chuckled at Calum before looking at her son again, "Do you like this girl?" She asked, smiling.

"Well, um..." he tried to process his thoughts, "her dog died."

Sarah looked confused, "Uh, not following."

"She was really upset, and I felt bad. And she asked me out and I didn't know how to say no."

Calum leaned further into the chair setting his finished cup of tea on the table, listening to the conversation.
