After my little moment with Maddie I just went back to doing more work outs mainly upper body, but a few leg presses. The boys continued with weight lifting as well as Maddie just did her own thing moving from machine to machine. I tried my best to get her out of my head, but I have no idea what's happening to me. I've never had a girl so stuck in my head, not even Daisy. Footsteps broke me out of my thoughts as Maddie approached me "Hey" she said timidly before taking a seat next to me.
"We're about to head out" she said as she gulped down her own water "I'm certainly ready" I replied tiredly. "Me too, I haven't worked this hard in a long time" she said with a laugh as I went to stand up. "Well I'm glad you came" I said standing up as well "I had fun, hopefully my brothers will let me come along next time too" she said with a slight blush. "I don't see why not" I responded as we made our way to the front doors of the gym. "Yeah, we'll see" she said with a laugh as we all made our way out of the gym and towards the car.
This time around Kevin and Kyle sat up front as Matthew, Maddie, and myself sat in the back. Since Maddie was the smallest she sat in the middle between me and Matthew. "So, Maddie will you be joining us now too" Kevin called from the drivers seat "If you'll let me" she responded with a smile making Kevin smile too. "I'm glad you came Madds, you've been moping over that pussy you dated for too long" Kyle butted in with an eye roll. "He was my first love, give me a break" Maddie responded with an eye roll of her own.
Kevin reached over and punched Kyle in the shoulder "Leave her alone" he said as he mad eye contact with Maddie in the rear view mirror. She nodded before dropping her eyes down to her lap as she twiddled her thumbs to avoid the topic. "You guys ever been in love before" I asked to take the heat off of her and looked between all three of the boys. "Dating is not really our thing" Kyle responded with a smirk as he stared back at me. "Girls are merely a distraction more than they are a helping hand" Kevin also added keeping his focus on the road. "Unlike my fuck boy brothers here I see women differently" Matthew said as he leaned closer to me. "I've never been in love, but I would love to find a girl to call my own one day" he said with a small smile.
"Careful little bro, your heart is showing" Kevin said with a laugh as Kyle reached back and ruffled his hair. "Oh you two are just too cynical, I think a man with a heart is way better than a man without one" Maddie finally spoke up making Matthew laugh. "I find that most women are a distraction, but the right woman? Now that is the key to becoming the best version of yourself" I added, Maddie once again dropped her head back into her lap. "Oh great, not you too" Kevin groaned as he looked at Kyle who nodded with him. "Well, you three heart eyed kids enjoy that, we will be living in the real world" Kyle said as we all fell into a comfortable silence.
It wasn't long before we arrived at my house and I climbed out grabbing my gym bag on the way. "Thanks guys, see you all next Thursday" I said before shutting my door and heading into the house. "Wow, that was fast" my mom said as she looked up from her book. "Yeah I know we got a lot done though" I said as I went to sit next to her and put my bag down by my feet. "You doing alright" my mom questioned before closing her book and setting it on the arm rest of the couch. "Yeah, why?" I asked looking into her eyes "You just seem a little different" she said with a shrug of her shoulders.
"I broke up with Hayden today" I said with a small shrug of my own making her gasp. "Oh you poor baby, why did you guys break up" she asked as she pulled me closer to her. "She was just not the right girl for me, too catty of you ask me" I responded bluntly and my mom just sighed. "Well, at least you found out she wasn't the one now rather than later" she said trying her best to make light of this situation. "I guess you're right" I said as I brushed her hair out of her face. "Well, I'm just glad I didn't raise a man who leads girls on when he knows that she isn't the one" she said with a small smile before getting up off of the couch. "That is a plus, isn't it" I stated with a smile of my own as she bent down to me and placed a kiss on my cheek. "I love you son, I'm going to go to bed" she said with a big yawn before taking off into the master bedroom and closing the door.
