"We are out!" Yok shouted like a banshee. He turned around from the front seat.
"Are you alright?" He asked. Sean shook his head. It was a hell of a ride.
"Good job with the fire." He praised them.
"Thanks. It was my idea." Yok winked at the twins.
"Are you good too, guys?" Gram asked, glancing at the brothers through the rearview mirror.
"Shocked, but good." Black nodded. "Watch the road." He added. Sean glanced at White. The short boy was clutching the laptop as his life depended on it. His face mask slid on his neck, revealing his paled face. Sean had to say White looked cute like this, too.
"What happened back there?" Gram asked. Sean sighed, telling them everything. White and Black added a thing or two.
"So the laptop could contain important evidence," Gram confirmed, his eyes fixed on the unpaved road.
"We got something, too." Yok grinned, reaching into his pants pocket and pulling out a flesh disk.
"The first room was storage like the other one. But the second was like a machine room. It was full of big PC machines. We downloaded what we could until they spotted us through the CCTV. I am sure Tawi won't get out of this."
Sean patted his head. He was tired and happy at the same time. He couldn't lose focus now, though.
"This road should lead us to the side entrance," White said.
"How do you know?" Sean asked, confused.
"It was our backup plan. If we couldn't make it in time to the finish."
"Just follow the path," White added. Gram nodded with a smile.
"Do you think they will send the mutant wolves after us?" Yok asked. Sean scratched his head, thinking.
"That's a big possibility. I don't think they will let us run away without fighting."
"Step on it." Black jabbed Gram in the shoulder.
" I am doing what I can. The road isn't exactly a highway."
"Annoying." Black snorted. The car fell into the silence. Sean felt White's hand sliding into his palm. A small smile appeared on his face as he intertwined their fingers. In this ridiculous situation, this small act of affection meant everything to Sean. He glanced at the younger, hoping he wasn't the only one with the warm feelings spreading in his chest.
"Shouldn't there be a phone or something?" Black asked, pointing to the deck compartment in front of the Yok. The said guy opened it, rummaging through it.
"I got something." He showed them a thick black phone.
"A satellite phone." Sean grinned.
"Give it to me." He snathed the device from Yok, typing in the number he knew by the heart. After a few rings, a familiar voice answered.
"Hallo?"
"Gumpa."
"Sean?"
"Yeah, it's me. Yok and Gram are with me."
"Are you alright? Not hurt? What happened?" Gumpa hits him with questions.
"Long story short. We have what we need, and we are running away with a stolen car. We are trying to get to the side gate. And we are not alone." Sean glanced at White and Black.
"Okay. You are not alone?"
"We have a Pothiyakorn twins with us. Can you contact their father and let him know they are alive, please?" Sean requested. White smiled at him thankfully.
"I don't think I have to do it. Wait a minute." The undefined noises come through the speaker and heavy breathing. Sean frowned. It looked like Gumpa was running somewhere. He coughed an angry voice, yelling before the line came alive again.
"White? Black?" The unfamiliar voice spoke up, and Sean realized it belonged to Adul Pothiyakorn, the twin's dad.
"Moment, please." Sean looked at the monitor, examining it before he pushed the speaker button.
"You can talk now." He announced.
"White? Black? My baby boys, are you there?" Adul's shaking voice came through.
"Dad." White sobbed. Sean squeezed his hand tighter. He didn't dare to pull the younger to his side because Black needed his brother more.
"Dad." Black joined the conversation. He had tears in his eyes, too. Sean was surprised. Black didn't seem like an emotional person.
"Are you hurt?"
"No, we are fine," Black answered.
"You two are in big trouble. I am putting you on house arrest for the rest of the year, and you will have to go straight home from university." Adul sobbed.
"We won't leave your side." White agreed, and Black nodded. The exchange was so emotional that even Sean teared up. The love between the twins and their father was beautiful. He missed the family he lost.
"Guys, I am sanding the drone to your location to keep an eye on you. Me and Mr. Pothiyakorn will wait for you at the gate. And don't forget it's not over yet." Gumpa warned them.
"Be careful, boys," Adul added.
"We will. See you soon." Sean hung up and looked around. The forest was quiet. Very quiet. Gumpa was right. It wasn't over.
