Seeing White's tears was like getting stabbed in the heart. He whipped them from his fluffy cheeks, ignoring Black's angry gaze. The twins must have loved their father and vice versa. The group hid their backpacks under the tree and disguised them with fallen branches. They took only necessary things before moving behind the building. Crouching down, Sean scanned the cameras on the top of the building. The area covered was quite large, with just a tiny blind spot. If they wanted to get inside, they had to be fast. He considered all the options, coming up with only one possible way to get in.
"The best way to get in is to cut the fence. Climbing over it would take too long and be noisy. Digging a hole is out of option, too."
"I agree. Go and cut it." Black commanded. Sean understood he wanted this mission to be over soon, but they had to be careful. He hinted to Yok to work on the task. The cutting didn't take him long.
"When you get through the hole, run towards the building and stay stuck to the wall. Don't move until we are together." Sean urged Gram, Black and White forward. Yok held the fence open for them as they crawled through the opening. The three obeyed his command, running and plastering themself to the grey wall. White was holding Black's hand all the time, not letting go. Sean suppressed the jealousy, holding the rolled fence up for Yok to get through too. They arranged it back to the original position before joining others.
"There's a small window." Black pointed at it. Gram shuffled forward, peeking through it.
"It looks like a storeroom. No living things inside." Gram announced. Sean nodded, knowing exactly what he had to do. Moving closer to the window lock, he pulled out a small case with his precious lockpicking tools. It was impressive of Gumpa to make him pack it. The older man knew what he was doing.
The lock clicked, letting Sean push the window open. He peeked inside before lightly jumping inside the room. It was indeed some kind of storage room. The brown boxes and shelves were full of unknown garbage everywhere. Sean looked around, jumping slightly when his eyes landed on the poster with a cut-up crow. Whoever put the horrible thing on the wall here must be a psychopath. He focused back on the window.
"You can climb down, but be careful," Sean whispered. Yok was first to jump down, and he immediately ran off to inspect the room. White's small body showed up next. Sean hurried towards him, grabbing him by his petite waist so he wouldn't fall as he tried to leap down. White sneaked his tiny arms around his neck. Sean held him in his arms, stepping backwards, making room for another person. Of course, it was Black. The short gremlin slapped Sean's hands, causing him to let go of White. It felt wrong not to have the younger boy in his arms.
"I am here too," Gram announced after he closed the window.
"Good. Let's get out of here then."
