"Dad, how could you!" Black shouted, startling Adul. The older male rolled his eyes, focusing back on the book he was reading. He knew why his son made such a fuss, so he stayed quiet. Soon, the hasty footsteps echoed through the house, and Adul braced himself. He was a diplomat, but talking to Black was sometimes challenging, especially if it was about White.
"Why did you let White go out with him?" Black whined as soon as he appeared in front of him. Adul put the book aside, taking off his reading glasses.
"Sean is a nice, well-mannered, intelligent young man, and he loves your brother."
"He's a dick." Black huffed. Adul sighed.
"White loves him too. Shouldn't you be happy for him?" Adul raised his eyebrow.
"He could do much better."
"Look, son. I know you only want the best for our little White. But he's happy with Sean, and I am quite like him, too. He's taking care of him."
"But."
"Stop, or do you want me to ban you from meeting Gram and going to Gumpa's shop?" Adul didn't want to pull out this card, but it was the only thing stopping his older son from further nonsensical arguing. Though he wasn't dating Gram, Adul knew he had a soft spot for him. The doorbell rang, and Adul stood up.
"Be good." He patted Black's shoulder before he went to greet Sean.
"Hello, Mr Pothiyakorn." Sean greeted him.
"How many times have I told you to call me dad?" Adul frowned. He liked Sean like his own son, and honestly, he hoped his relationship with White would never break.
Sean nodded, still a bit shy.
"White will be down in a minute. Come in and beware of his evil twin." Adul joked, stepping aside to let Sean in.
"Thank you, dad." Sean smiled. They walked inside the living room. Black sulked on the sofa, watching the news on TV and ignoring their guest. Adul sighed, wondering how long it would take Black to come to terms with White dating Sean.
He showed his son to the side, taking place in the middle of the couch, patting the spot beside him. Sean obeyed immediately, settling there.
"How's Gumpa?" Adul asked. He didn't see the man for two weeks. They were both busy. He with the upcoming trial regarding his divorce and Gumpa with Tawi.
A few weeks after Gumpa's group posted the evidence against the businessman, a wave of protest arose against him. The public wanted Tawi's head. Surprisingly, many of Tawi's supporters decided to turn their backs on him. Even his ex-wife. It almost made Adul laugh when she contacted him, asking for a meeting without a lawyer. Adul refused. He knew his wife too well to fall for her trap again.
In the end, she gave up on the twin's custody and asked for a good amount of money instead. Adul happily agreed, and they settled the papers right away. The trial was something they had to go through because the minors were involved. His lawyer assured him it was just a formality, and he had Black and White all for himself.
Thinking about his boys, they give him a fright of a life. When Todd informed him about the situation, he immediately went to the Hunt site. He didn't care about people recognizing him. He made a scene, demanding the organizers to get his boys out, but they declined. At least they checked their location for him. He didn't know what to think when the man before him went pale. Then Gumpa showed up and trusted the phone into his hand with words that someone wanted to talk with him.
"Hia is fine, a little busy, though. He asked me to invite you to the garage for a drink today if you are free. Black and White are welcomed too." Sean pulled him out of the reminiscing.
"I would love to. We didn't have time to talk lately." Adul smiled. They became good friends after all the drama, meeting up for drinks from time to time. Black perked up beside him, making him chuckle.
The loud stomping made them turn around. Soon, White appeared all pretty and smiley.
"Hi, Sean." He waved at his boyfriend, and Adul suddenly felt like intruding on his boy's love life.
"Hi, baby." Sean stood up, walking over to him.
"You look pretty." He praised. Adul tried to focus on the television than the lovebirds. He heard Black groan beside him, but one look from him shut him up.
"We are leaving, Dad." White leaned over the sofa, kissing his cheek, and did the same with Black.
"Have fun, boys. We will meet in the garage later." Adul waved them off. Black grumbled something incoherent, but Adul was sure his son just sent Sean to hell.
"See you later, Dad," Sean said his goodbye before they disappeared.
"I don't like him." Black huffed.
"Just deal with it for White." Adul patted Black's head. His son moved closer, leaning on him. Adul wrapped an arm around Black's shoulder, comforting him.
