Chapter 17: A Book?

Lucy's POV

I wake up to see that Natsu's not beside me. My wounds hurt, but I feel better thanks to Natsu's healing.

I stand up and walk out of the room, no one's there.

I walk throught the guild, wich has more rooms than I thought. Almost all of the them are closed, and the few ones that remain open are empty.

I walk for at least half and hour until I opened a door, different from the normal ones, it's bigger and red. I open the door to find E.N.D sleeping in a chair. I quickly close the door but he talks.

"Come in, Lucy" I follow his instructions. "What are you doing?"

"I was bored and decided to explore the guild"

"You know there's no exit to this building, at least not if I don't want to."

"I know, I was just bored."

"I don't have many things to stop your boredom, but I have this" a book in fire appears in his hand. "You can read it if you stay in this room, since this book is precious to me" the fire ceases and I can see the book, is the book of E.N.D, I can see the initials.

"Why would you lend it to me? Aren't you scare I destroy it?"

"My dear Lucy, you can't destroy it. And the fact of you opening the book will change nothing"

I don't know if I want to read it, maybe I can find some way of returning Natsu back.

"OK, I'll read it. Where do I sit?" There are no more chairs in the room

"Ohh, don't worry." A chair appears.

It 's a the other side of the room, at least he understands I don't want to sit beside him. I get closer to him, and take the book of his hand, then I go and sit on the chair.

I open the book and surprise! I can't read it, it's in a different language, an old one.

"Ummm"

"If you want something call me by my name"

"E.N.D?"

"What is it?"

"I can't read this. I don't understand it."

"Did you tried? Or you just looked at it."

"I just looked at it"

"I thought. It's a book of magic, start reading it and by the third or fourth page you'll understand everything, then just start reading it again."

I didn't thought he'll be this nice, giving me his book, explaining me how to read it.

Wait! What am I thinking. E.N.D, a nice guy? I'm really getting crazy in here.

I open the book and start reading it, as E.N.D told me, by page four I start understanding every word, so I restart the book.

Is a strange but interesting book, the first ten pages said that it was property of Zeref and about Zeref and his demons, etc. But in the eleven page, when the first chapter starts is a total different from what I imagined.

The title of the first chapter is 'The origin'. In this chapter I read about Zeref and his relationship with E.N.D befor he was E.N.D, when he was Natsu. It has written all about Zeref's little brother, Natsu Dragneel, the personality, the physical characteristics, how he acted, his favorite food, etc.

Without knowing it the time passed, I was finishing chapter one when E.N.D entered the room, I didn't even notice when he left.

"Are you hungry? I brought you food." He gets close to me and leaves beside mi, in a table that suddenly appeared, a tray with food.

"Why are you so kind with me?"

"I just don't want you wondering in my guild, you might get kill."

"By who?"

"Not by who, by what. There are things in this guild normal people shouldn't know"

I know I'm going to regret this question but ai have to say:

"And, whata re you doing?"

"Planing"

Wow, he answered.

"Planing what?"

"How to destroy Zeref and conquer the world"

"But Zeref is your brother, isn't he?"

"Zeref revived me to kill him, the part of conquering the world is all mine"

"You're going to kill your brother?"

"He has lived for too long, and yes"

"Don't you feel guilty?"

"Lucy, I think you're forgetting who I am. I don't feel guilty, I have no emotions."

I shut up, I didn't thought E.N.D would answer all does questions.

I continue reading the book, the next chapter is full of formulas of dark magic and tabus, which I only understand the half of it.

"That's enough for today" E.N.D stands up and the book disappears.

"But...."

"You will not finish the book in one day, it took Zeref a year to create it. Do you know how many chapter does it has?"

"No, like 40 something?"

"My dear Lucy, at the speed you read the book it would take you more than a year to finish it. It has 300 chapters"

"What! But it chapter is like 100 pages long"

"Exactly, this book has magic so it only seems like a big book of approximately 1000 pages, but it has much more than that"

E.N.D gives me some food and I take it to the room he gave me and sit on the bed.

Why is he being so kind to me? Yesterday he tortured me, what is he doing now.

I started thinking about what I read today in his book, principally about the chapter of his childhood, that was when I understood.

Maybe he's a demon, bit his human part, the Natsu part, doesn't like being alone.
