Penny didn't move though she shook her head, she hadn't been in big trouble with her brothers until today.
"N..No you are being scary."
"I understand, bur right now we will be having a more through conversation in my office about your misbehavior today. No go Penelope, I will not tell you again."
"N...No. I...I didn't do nothin wrong."
Luke narrowed his eyes, He squatted down and pushed his hat up on his forehead to get a better look at her, she could see the fury in his eye. And backed away a little. She looked away but Luke cleared his throat, and slowly Penny looked up at him.
"You don't think you two did anything wrong? Austin told you to stay near the house yes?"
"He said we could go to the treehouse, and the river is the same distance."
"No Ma'am, is the river the treehouse?" Luke asked sternly.
"But."
"No buts, no excuses. The moment you feel you need an excuse it isn't worth it, Penelope Stirling. You are in trouble; you need to own up to that and take your punishment. Though seems you were also not truthful with Austin is that right?"
She just looked at the ground, thinking, after a minute Luke asked in a dangerous tone, "Penelope."
She started kicking the ground with the boot of her shoe, "Penelope!"
"I...I said you said I could go into the forest when Cassie got here," Tears in her eyes as she spoke.
"And did I actually say that?"
"No, sir."
"I also found a white sheet on the log, and I know for a fact, Holton told you to stay off of it," Noah said, Holton looked at her fast and his displeasure went to pure anger, but he said nothing. Penny looked away from Holton instantly.
"We were carful,"
"Were you told by your brother to stay off that log? Yes sir or no sir?"
"Y..yes, sir."
"Did you turn your phone off?"
"No, sir, I didn't know it was off, Cassie turned it back on for me cause I didn't know how."
"Okay, well at least you were not avoiding us in contacting you," he said softly, Luke didn't want to add that on to her punishment list. Cassie can be a bit of a rebel, but she usually is a well-behaved young lady, and he never had issues up until now with Cassie disobeying his rules.
Though then again, she didn't have a playmate on the Ranch aside from Kara and they usually went to Cassie's house. To be perfectly honest, he was more worried about Kara than anything else when it came to getting into trouble for Penny.
"Do you understand how long we have been looking for you two?"
"But Cassie has a tracker."
"We didn't have Clay around and couldn't get ahold of Clay while he was working. It was recent that he came back and we found your location," Luke said sternly,
"Three hours, it's far past Cassie's time to go home. Then Austin called looking for you both when I was in range. So, we all started searching for you girls," Cody said.
"I want you to go find a corner in my office young lady, you are going to stand there until I tell you otherwise," he said sternly pointing to the door. Penny ran through the house, tears falling down her face as she ran to a corner and started crying into her arms. They were going to send her away now.
