"What! We did a lot of the work, and it's Zane's family. Why do we have to go back!"
We were moved to a different safe house as Red took Matt and Ally back home, leaving us with Batman. He was telling us that he was going to my parents house to confront them and get answers, while we were to go back to the cave, hence Wally yelling.
"In case you are forgetting, it's also the same ones that wanted him dead and hired people to find him... I'm not saying you shouldn't be involved, I'm saying to not be involved with this. I will explain everything that I find to you, I just don't trust them."
"Okay" I say, and Wally gives me a look saying 'Why are you going with this.' To be honest I just want this to be over with, and I trust Batman to figure this out. Everything felt so sketchy ever since we got into town, mainly the way how everyone knew about my parents but never talked about them losing a son, although maybe it was covered up by the fact Matt said they adopted another child. It also helps to not ever face them, because I feel like I would break down and not be able to speak.
It's not like this small journey wasn't worth it though, I got to meet Matt, my family, and I'm able to hang out with him and hopefully meet others. Just feel like I'm finally not trapped.

It took the rest of the day to get back to the Mountain since we were on the other side of the state, but Artemis and Robin were still wide awake in the Living Room watching T.V.
Artemis was the first one to notice us walking in. "Wow, you two look like death! What happened? You were gone all day." Whoops... I think I kind of forgot to update the others on what was happening, I was just too anxious and left with Wally immediately after seeing what Manhunter showed me.
"On a fun adventure?" I pose as more of a question than an answer to her. Robin pauses the T.V. so we could focus on each other as me and Wally get settled in and comfortable.
"More like 'Find the Missing Family' the board game. We had gotten so close than Bats just tells us to go back to the Cave." Wally was clearly still seething at the fact that we couldn't see my parents, but knowing him he most likely just wanted to tear them a new one... and I can't blame him. I just hope that Batman can find something.
"Well did anything good come out of it?" Robin enquired.
"I got to meet my cousins, other than that nothing else important happened." Wally gave me a little look but didn't say anything. I didn't wanna tell them all the other details since It didn't seem important anymore now that Bats is trying to talk to my parents now.
I give the area a look around and notice something.
"Where are the other three?" I asked, referring to Megan, Kaldur, and Connor... I still have to get used to calling him that, I just am used to 'Superboy' too much.
"Before Bats left he sent Megan and Conner on a mission, they are going undercover in a prison to see what a group of icicles are up to. Red is monitoring them so they're safe, In fact they could be back soon. As for Kaldur, most likely back home."
"Well on that note I'm off to shower, I've just been running around all day." Wally states, getting up and going to his room. I sink further in my seat and let out a sigh.
'I just can't wait for Batman to get back so I can know the truth and finally be done with all of this.'
"Are you not gonna clean up as well?" Artemis asks me before her and Robin resume their show. I lazily wave my hand at her in response.
"Yeah, in a minute, I just came back and felt like I didn't sleep for days."
"Yeah traveling will do that to ya." Artemis gets up from the sofa and walks towards the kitchen before speaking over her shoulder. "If you want something better speak up now, I'm not coming back."
"I'm good!" Me and Robin respond with, giving Artemis' comment a small laugh.
"Are you sure everything is okay?" Rob asks out of the blue. I wondered what he meant for a moment before I realized. I gave him a reassuring smile and nod.
"I'm fine, the only thing that feels iffy is of course my parents. I just kind of wished things went differently and I could see them."
"I know what you mean, I think a lot of people here can sympathize with the feeling of just wanting everything to be different yet the same all the same time. Man. Life would be so much easier that way." At this point I think he drifted off during his sentence to look up at the ceiling. He seemed to snap out of it after a few seconds and look back at me.
"Sorry, I kind of went off on you." He scratched the side of his head, something he would do quite a bit when he was nervous or just anxious about something. I noticed it all the time when they were at mission briefings being filled in, It's like everything builds up before he goes, I wonder how he actually is when he's just in the moment.
"It's okay. I would talk the scientist heads off at Cadmus asking a bunch of questions a day, that would probably kind of explain why some never liked me, and I kind of stopped talking because I thought I was annoying."
"Ha! That's how I feel with Alfred! Remember when he walked out the room because I would be asking impossible questions all day to see if he knew the answer?" I thought for a moment before laughing remembering that also ending with Batman walking in, in his normal clothes, and smacking Rob on the back of the head so hard he went into a coughing fit for a few minutes.
That's how we spent the rest of that afternoon, chatting until the others got back and we all told stories and watched T.V.
