Aj opened the office door slowly, after khao's outburst. He would normally have found First furious, but all he found was his friend sitting pensively. For someone so intelligent, the older man could sometimes be very stupid, especially about his own feelings. His brother Tay used to say that he had a low EQ and was afraid for anyone who fell in love with him. Remembering Tay, Aj laughed, imagining how much fun he would be having in this situation. Even though he was aware of his friend's presence, Aj's laughter attracted the attention of First, who looked at him questioningly — Sorry, I didn't mean to disturb your dramatic moment. - He said jokingly - I was thinking about Tay. The thought of Khao trapped in the catacombs and his screams echoing off the cold walls made First shudder, but what really scared him was that Aj was right, a week ago he would have killed any wizard who uttered the name of Rattanakitpaisarn. — And I don't think I even need to talk about today, do I? First stared at his friend but didn't answer, he knew it was a rhetorical question, obviously Aj would talk about today's events. — He broke into the catacombs, the place you forbade him to go, in fact the only place in the whole complex you forbade him to go, he used powers he had told you he didn't have and attacked all the guards and almost attacked you - Aj was now pacing back and forth - All right, maybe kidnapping his friend and putting him in silver handcuffs wasn't our best idea, but you still just let him go, and worse, you just went along with it while he bossed your men around, bossed me around and worse, you. - Aj stood with his arms on the table right in front of First and smiling mischievously asked - When was the last time you obeyed someone? First didn't answer. First didn't move. First couldn't believe it would take him so long to realize. — Fuck. Aj sat back victoriously as he analyzed his friend finally admitting his feelings. — There you go. - Aj sighed with relief as he handed First a glass of whiskey that he hadn't even noticed when he poured it and turned it over. — What now? - he asked, still stunned - After today he must hate me. — Nah. I'm not sure he hated you before that. — Chayapol. — Man up. - said Aj, making First finally smile. That was the phrase Tay used to say to both of them. — Sort this out first. - said Aj throwing and catching the ring in the air - Talk to him. — You do like him, don't you? — Ever since he challenged me to a fight - said Aj. - But mostly because he made you smile again Aj downed his drink and left a smiling First planning his next steps, it wouldn't be easy but Aj knew how far the vampire would go to win over the little wizard.
