The Weird Kid

"Soooo you guys know each other already" Sketch questioned Sub nodded,
"I helped him find his classroom" he wrote
Sketch nods
"Cool!
Denis and Alex was chatting with each other turn out they had a lot in common, Sketch turned his attention back to Sub
"So this is the guy you wanted us to invite" Sketch lifted his eyebrow and watch Sub write something down.
"Yes, Denis is pretty kind and doesn't seem like a bad person" Sketch read it over and over again,
Sub was confused as he watch Sketch look at Denis and look back at the writing again.
He looked up at Sub
"Is he your type" Sketch whispered
Sub looked at him with wide eyes and shook his head rapidly, Sketch laugh and patted his shoulder
"Don't worry I won't tell him"
Sub blushed,
"No way, Denis is just a friend" Sub wrote
Sketch shrugged
"Yeah sure...." Sketch smiled
Denis then wave at Sub and Sketch and walked away with Alex heading to their class together
"We should probably head out as well"
Sketch and Sub got their things and left separate ways.

Sketch walked into his class and sat next to Alex, Alex turn and greeted him,
"So what were you and Sub whispering about" Alex smirk
Sketch sighed and looked at him,
"It was nothing, Sub is just having a small crush on Denis" Sketch lied
Alex laughed and shook his head
"Sketch come on don't put Sub on the spot like that" Alex smirk
Sketch playfully punch Alex on the shoulder
"You and Denis seem to get along well" Sketch said, Alex started reading his book
"Yeah, he's pretty cool" Alex smiled
Sketch went on his phone. Alex then gasp and shook Sketch, Sketch looked at Alex pissed and confused
"I forgot to tell tell you! Turns out some guy name Flamingo has a crush on Denis, I overheard someone talking about it" Alex laughed
Sketch then rolled his eyes
"I doubt they would date" Sketch joke
Alex laugh harder,
"Yeah no shit! they're so different!" Alex smiled
Sketch chuckled and nod.
"Yeah true"

Class soon started and everyone sat down, Denis walked over and sat down next to a guy dressed as a cowboy .
"Wait, aren't you that new student name Denis?
My name is Flamingo"
he shook Denis hand and then let go wiping his hand on his shirt, He look at Flamingo.
"I-uhm yeah it nice meeting you" Denis said awkwardly, he shifted in his seat trying to get comfortable, Flamingo chuckle and threw a paper at the teacher.
The teacher yelp and turned around to see who threw it, He whistle and pretend to write something down until the teacher stop looking.
He then leaned close to Denis,
Denis was getting uncomfortable with his sudden closeness.
Flamingo smiled
"So, I heard you met the whole crew, huh" Flamingo whispers,
Denis look confused
"Wha-" Denis was interrupted when Flamingo threw a hand around him.
"I'm surprised they invited someone in their group! Since you know....the incident with their old friend Corl , Yikes!" Flamingo shook his head pretending to
look disappointed.
Denis leaned back pulling away from Flamingo
"Who?" Denis mumbled
Flamingo shrug
"My bad! I forgot this was a different universe" Flamingo snort
Denis looked at him baffled and moved his seat little to keep some distance between them.
Flamingo lean his chin on his palm
"So what's your favorite color" Flamingo asked
"Yellow?"
Flamingo smiled and then continue to ask him more questions, Denis wasn't sure why he was asking him stuff . Flamingo would look at Denis and say something that seems to be a reference, he never got any of them and Flamingo would look disappointed and mumbled something.
"I kinda though you and Denis would be the same" Flamingo frown
Denis was confused and shook his head
"What are you on? I am Denis" He said
Flamingo looked at him
"Yeah, sure you are, whatever helps you sleep at night" Flamingo rolled his eyes and took a sip from his water bottle.
"So have you ever kiss anyone before?"
Denis eyes widened and felt his face turn red,
"No" Denis responded
Flamingo giggle
"Well do you want to kiss someone" Flamingo cowboy accent kicked in a bit,
Denis smile when the bell rang, he got up and walked away before Flamingo catch up with him.
Flamingo watch Denis leave and laugh, he got up and made sure no one was was around. He push the clock on his wrist and went through a portal.
He then appeared in a lab,
he walked over to the computer and started typing away
"Let see how this world is gonna play out" Flamingo mumbled,

Later that day Denis was meeting up with Sketch at a cafe after school. He got his wallet and brush his hair feeling his own excitement, he finally had a friend. Denis smile and got his things ready, he went downstairs and left the house.

He arrived at the cafe, he spotted Sketch and quickly ran inside and sat next to him.
"Hey dude!" Sketch shouted ,
Denis was smiling so hard that he didn't realize he had a headache, Sketch ordered a hot chocolate while Denis order a cappuccino, Sketch took a sip of his drink
"So you met Flamingo?" Sketch said amused
"Yeah it was kinda weird..." Denis admitted
Sketch stir his drink and looked at Denis confused
"Weird how?" Sketch asked
"I don't know...it felt like he knew me, he kept saying things about Denis but I was in front of him, is there another Denis or what!? Ugh..." Denis complained
Sketch shrug and took another sip
"Flamingo is a new student, he started last week" Sketch said
Denis nodded letting Sketch continue
"Everyone notice how weird he was when he first got here, Flamingo would usually talk about someone who doesn't even live in this town...last time he was asking me if my dragon was doing okay...??" Sketch eyes widen from the memory.
Denis then look out the window and leaned back
"Yeah...he ask me if my cat was okay, the weird part is I never told him about my cat" Denis shudder,
Sketch nod and took a sip
They were sitting and was quiet lost in their own thoughts
"Do you think he has mind power" They both said at the same time,
Denis and Sketch look at each other and laughed. They lock eyes containing their laughter
"I doubt it" Denis replied,
he then got a text and checked it, it was from his mom
"Where are you honey?" Was the text
"At the cafe with a friend"
He sent it and waited for her to respond
Sketch noticed his phone and look back at his drink.
Denis got up and grabbed his tote bag
"I gotta go, it late and my mom is worried" Denis uttered, Sketch nodded and got up
"I have to leave too, it getting dark already and I haven't even done my homework" Sketch confessed
Denis nodded and they both walked out
Sketch and Denis were quiet, it wasn't awkward it just was quiet and a comfortable silence, He pat Denis back and said goodbye leaving separate ways.
Denis walk home but stop track when he noticed Flamingo was sitting down on a bench, He was about to turn the other way but Flamingo locked eyes with him. They both looked at each other, Flamingo zip up his coat and looked at the sky.
"Had fun?" Flamingo grin
Denis sat next to him and grabbed a scarf he had in his toe bag, he wrap it around his neck and looked down at his hand.
"How did you know I was at the cafe" Denis asked
"I didn't but thanks for telling me" Flamingo teased,
Denis didn't respond and continued to stare at his hands,
"Are you cold?" Flamingo questioned
Denis nodded and then got up
"You should go home..." Denis stutter
Flamingo bit his lip and looked away
"Yeah..." Flamingo got up and walked away leaving Denis alone.
Denis looked around and shook his head, he had to get home.
