Your a mistake

It was morning, Flamingo got up and stretched his arms groaning
He heard a knock and got up to open the door
"Hey can I come in" Jake said,
Flamingo yawn and rubbed his eyes
"Yea yea"
He open the door and Jake came in holding a map
"Alright, I made a plan, were gonna leave tomorrow morning, we'll be heading to a mall then after that we'll get our supplies and-"
"Jake remembered about yesterday" Flamingo cut him off, Jake rolled his eyes
"So your still going back"
Flamingo frown and sat on the bed
"I have to say goodbye"
Flamingo murmured,
Jake sat next to him and look at him
"How do you know they'll let you come back"
Jake said,
Flamingo look down and bite his lip
"Because...I-fuck Jake I don't know" Flamingo gripped his hat and shook his head feeling stress
Jake looked disappointed and put his hand on Flamingo shoulder
"Alright...I'll cover for you, you can leave, but when you come back we're leaving"
Jake got up and headed towards the door,
Flamingo nodded
"I promise"
Flamingo said
Jake sighed and close the door
Flamingo turned toward his wall and push his clock returning back to the universe

He looked around noticing he was in an alley, Flamingo walked out of the alley and head toward the park,
Denis was there sitting on the bench and started typing on his phone
"Hey" Flamingo said,
Denis look up and waved
"Hi, where were you last night?" Denis question
Flamingo tense up and started thinking for an excuse
"Oh I-uhm I was at my friends place last night" Flamingo cleared his throat and sat down next to him.
Denis nodded and continued texting, Flamingo felt guilty for lying to him
"Uh- Denis, can I tell you something" Flamingo said
Denis raised his eyebrow and turned towards him
"Of course but actually I have something to tell"
Denis said smiling
Flamingo was tired but seeing Denis smile made me wide awake
"Alright shoot!" Flamingo sat up
"You know how we were going to match for the prom! Wellll I got us some tux and flowers for us to match" Denis held Flamingo hand feeling excited
He glance at Denis and tried to put on a smile
"Wow-That really-"
"so what did you wanted to tell me?"
Flamingo bit his lip
"Oh nothing just how excited I am for prom"
Flamingo lied
Denis smiled and squeezed his hand
"Me too! Hey wanna head back to my place and see the outfits" Denis said,
Flamingo felt a pit on his stomach and nod
"Sure!"
They got up and head to Denis house, once they arrive Denis ran inside and got the outfits
"Here's your suit"
Denis gave Flamingo the tux and smiled
Flamingo looked at the tux and felt his eyes watering, He wasn't sure why he felt scared telling Denis that he wasn't going to prom, he is use to ditching Denis and going to the next universe but this Denis is different....
"Wow Denis this...this is amazing"
Flamingo held back his tear and hugged him
Denis hugged him back
"Aww I'm glad you love it"
Denis broke the hug and smile
"Alright, we'll wear it next week"
"Denis can we go to the cafe?"
Denis was confused with the sudden request but he nodded and grabbed his hand
"Yeah of course!"
Flamingo smiled and they left Denis house.

Denis opened the door to the cafe and walk inside
Flamingo followed behind, Sketch was in the corner of the cafe and was drinking his coffee
"Sketch !"
Denis yelled, Sketch look up and waved
"Hi guys!"
He called, Denis and Flamingo went and sat next to him
"Hey! What's up?"
Sketch cringe seeing Flamingo but decided to ignore his presence
"Guess who is coming to the winter prom!?"
Denis said excited, Sketch rolled his eyes and sighed
"Corl?"
Sketch guessed
"Yep!"
Flamingo answered,
Sketch felt anger and glare at Flamingo
"Ugh...yeah well I know about him coming since we were planning on meeting up today at the store"
Sketch said,
Denis laughed and shake his head
"Anywho me and Flamingo are wearing matching outfits"
Denis told Sketch
Sketch chuckled and looked at Denis
"Matching outfits?"
Denis just smiled
"Yeah it was Flamingo idea"
He explained
Flamingo was feeling uncomfortable with the tension between Sketch and him, He could feel Sketch staring holes into him, Flamingo didn't know why he was mad at him
"We should all get matching outfits"
Denis said, Flamingo laugh nervously
"Please why would I ever match with him"
Sketch whisper under his breath
"What was that!?"
Flamingo stood up,
Denis stood up tried to calm Flamingo
"Hey hey hey! Flamingo chill" Denis said, Flamingo huffed and sit back down
"Whatever"
Sketch just sat there baffled
"If anyone should be mad it should be me" Sketch said,
Denis look confused and look at Sketch
"Why would you be mad?"
He asked, Sketch stood up and look at him
"Really? How could you ask that! You been hanging out with Flamingo this whole time, we miss you and it sucks seeing you hang out with someone who obviously isn't a real friend"
Sketch explained
Flamingo rolled his eyes and was about to stand up and yell at Sketch
"No no, wait what are you talking about"
Denis sat back down and was getting more confused
"Denis...we miss hanging out with you...I miss hanging out with you"
Sketch left the cafe leaving Denis speechless,
Flamingo and Denis sat in silence.
Denis didn't say anything and look down
"Flamingo"
He mumbled, Flamingo grab Denis hand leadings them to the exit
"How about we go somewhere else" He suggested
Denis just nodded feeling kinda sad,
Flamingo took Denis hand and led him to the park, Flamingo and Denis sat down on a bench and Flamingo held Denis hand
"Denis, I know you're upset but don't worry, your friend was just jealous"
Flamingo said ruffling Denis hair playfully
"Hey!" Denis chuckles and took Flamingo hand off his hair,
he locked eyes with him and time went by slow
"Do you think I'm a bad friend" Denis blurted out, Flamingo froze and looked at Denis
"No" Flamingo quickly said
"Yes you do, you have that face" Denis said,
Flamingo look away and didn't say anything,
Denis felt his heart sink and stood up
"I-I Denis that just- It not you, I'm having problem with something else at the moment but it not you!" Flamingo rambled feeling nervous
Denis looked down and just huff
"It just..I made friends and they're the coolest people I ever met! They inspire me to be better.....and right now there going to prom together and crazy thing is they didn't even invite me until you did" Denis looked at Flaming and sat back down next to him
Flamingo felt his heart shatter, he had to tell him the truth.
"Flamingo, I don't even know if I want to go"
Denis whispered
"What?"
"My friends obviously don't want me there...it just makes me mad that they blame you for something that I did"
Flamingo sat there in silence
"Then I won't go with you"
"I'm-excuse me?"
"Their mad at me...sooo if I don't go then everyone is happy and you get to hang out with your friends again!"
Denis was shocked with what he said and felt his heart stop
"You..you would do that for me" Denis said
Flamingo smiled and hold his hands
"Of course I would"
Denis just smiled and lean forward, Flamingo felt his heart beating fast
Denis hugged him
They both sat there hugging each other for a minute until Flamingo broke the hug
"Alright! Let's head back home"
Flamingo and Denis both stood up and head back
"Flamingo?"
"Yes"
"Thank you"
"No problem"
"I mean it"
"Denis I would do anything for you"
Denis blush and grin
"I would do anything for you too"
Once they arrived at Denis house Flamingo bid farewell
"See you next time"
Flamingo wave goodbye and headed back to his universe.

He enter his room and sigh, Jake was sitting on his bed waiting for him
"What took you so long" Jake yawn,
Flamingo sat next to him and starting to break down crying
"Jake please I can't- I know I promise but Denis I-"
Jake looked at the wall and sighed
"Flamingo...I know how you feel-well actually I don't since I can't exactly go to universe- shit you get what I mean" Jake said feeling furious
"Look what I'm trying to say is..I miss Denis too" Jake looked at the photo hanging on the wall and felt a lump on his throat,
Flamingo looked at the picture and frown
"Jake, I'm sorry"
Flamingo mumbled, Jake stood up and sigh
"Yeah I know, you don't have to be sorry, I understand why your doing this, It just- we all miss him, I know it was hard for you when Sketch couldn't forgive you that day.......how hard it was having to shoot Denis but you did the right thing" Jake said trying to comfort him,
Flamingo just hiccup and wipes his tears
"Jake can I ask you something"
Flamingo murmured
"Go ahead"
Jake responded
"If...what if I stay in the universe"
Jake looked at him
"What..."
Flamingo got up
"After we find the cure, I get to stay in the universe"
Jake shook his head and crossed his arms
"That's not a good idea, you already fucked up the universe timeline"
Jake reminded him,
Flamingo groaned and paced around the room
"I was trying to be happy!! Come one you can't blame me for trying to cope"
Flamingo argued back, Jake rub his temple and looked at him pissed off
"No, you don't get to try to be happy, not when your stealing people lives and replacing their roles!!
Jake shouted,
Flamingo froze and didn't say anything,
"Flamingo...look you have to realize you can't stay in that universe, who role did you take anyway?"
Flamingo stood there quietly and mumbled something
"What can you speak up"
"Sub! I stole Sub role"
Jake stood there shock and looked at him in disbelieve
"Holy shit, you did not" He said
Flamingo was pacing around the room feeling anxious
"I'm sorry I was just tired of the apocalypse, and seeing my friends hurt, I didn't want to live like this, and I discovered a universe so I decided to steal Sub role and be bestie with Denis instead"
They both stood there in silence, Jake was speechless
"That's pretty fucked up"
Jake whispered
"Jake what if I can stay"
"Flamingo, it's not possible, you don't have any family there, where the fuck would you stay"
"Well, I could always go at Denis-"
"Oh my fucking god! It always Denis why can't you just move on"
Flamingo rubbed his arm feeling mad
"Because...I-eh it umm kinda mess up but I think I fell in love with him"
Flamingo admitted, Jake just stared at him
"Flamingo...."
Jake groaned and started pulling his hair
"I can't do this"
Jake muttered
Flamingo looked down feeling guilty
"Jake I'm sorry, I didn't- look you need to understand- Hell! Maybe try to put yourself in my shoes for a second and think about what I'm going through" Flamingo yelled
Jake looked at him and sighed
"Fine, what is it you want"
Flamingo looked away and took a deep breath
"I want to stay, after we find the cure I want to stay and continue to be Flamingo"
Flamingo looked at him
Jake scoffed
"That's stupid...what the fuck am I going to do" Jake whispers
"You can come and visit"
"That doesn't make me feel any better"
"I'm sorry Jake"
"Fuck Flamingo I'm just mad"
Jake sat down on the bed and groan
Flamingo sat next to him
"You know...it would be nice if we both went together? "
Flamingo thought
Jake chuckled and shook his head
"I wish, I wish we could"
Jake sighed
"I wish we could too"
They both sat in silence,
Flamingo felt angered rise up, did he feel bad for stealing  Sub role? Yes, but he done this before he stole people role and had never once felt guilty about it.
"Alright, will leave tomorrow morning"
Flamingo nodded and got ready for bed.

It was the next morning, Flamingo and Jake was in the lab, they were both packing everything into a box
"Alright, you got everything?"
Flamingo nodded, they walked out the building and went on their horse and ride off

Denis put on his tux suit and looked at the mirror, he looked decent
He felt nervous it was his first prom
"Fuck what if they don't forgive me" Denis muttered walking around the room
"Corl...Sketch...Alex and Sub, their not going to forgive me..."
He sighed and left his room
"Oh honey you look handsome" Denis mom said hugging him
"Thanks mom...uh imma head out now, I'll see later" he walked out the house and went inside his car.

He drove to the school and parked his car, he saw Alex and Sub outside
He took a deep breath and got out his car, Alex and Sub look at him and smile
"Hey guys!"
Alex looked at him surprise
"Uh hey Denis! Haven't seen you in a while"
Sub smiled and wrote
"Glad to see you Denis"
Denis smiled and hugged them
"Yeah it great seeing you guys, let head inside"
