Chapter 10: Grand Hall

I never thought that Grand Hall would turn magical this night. We just arrived in the location and I already saw a lot of familiar faces including my block. They were trying to plaster their own expensive gowns and tuxedo. It's not already common that most students here are capable and some are even sons and daughters of a tycoon.

"Oh my god. I'm so excited!" Arnis exclaimed while she roamed her eyes inside.

"They spent a lot on this I can tell." I looked at Fanny when she murmured. It's true, I can also tell at first glance. Is this some like just a single penny for their budget for this year? Cornelia Campbell is huge and expensive!

"Hey, Ladies. Please go to your assigned table."

Napalingon kami sa isang faculty na bumungad sa'min para igiya kami sa kanya-kanyang mga upoan.

"Oh saan ka pupunta, Arnis?" I asked when she's about to leave. Napakunot naman ang noo nito bago ako tiningnan."Sa table namin?"

I looked at the faculty again few meters away from us."Come with us, I think hindi naman nila manonotice. Hindi rin kami sasama ni Fanny sa block namin. I have a nice spot for us."

Napatango naman ito bago sumunod. We placed ourselves near the right wing of the stage. It can occupy at least six people.

"Have you noticed? The vibe." Arnis whispered while roaming her eyes. Napatingin kami ni Fanny sakanya. "Magical?"

Napailing-iling ito."Ewan ko ba pero I just don't like this kind of feeling. Alam mo yung parang may mangyayaring hindi maganda?" tanong nito. Is she perhaps okay right now? Sometimes kasi may ganitong aspect si Arnis and to tell you the truth her instincts never fail us.

"That's not cool." I said before biting my lips. I have a peformance later so I need to be calm.

I was silently listening to the background music in the Grand Hall when my eyes landed to the woman in black dress. Oh god, she's breaking the motif of this event. Miss Amora has this bad habits of shining, well I would not say it in positive light, rather than being an outcast, she's pulling everyone's attention to her.

Now, I'm wondering if she attended an early celebration of halloween just by her outfit tonight. Anyways, it does look good on her, well slight.

"She's smoking hot." I hate to admit but Fanny is right. Sige nalang pagbibigyan dahil adviser namin and of course as a student I should be supportive right?. I mentally rolled my eyes because of my thoughts, I'm too plastic for this.

"Is that Arkray?"

Napalingon ako dahil sa boses ni Arnis. I followed her gaze. I immediately raised my eyebrow upon staring at the two figure laughing.

"That Velasco guy is too fast!" I didn't bother to mind what Fanny said. I remained myself vigilant to this situation. Since when did they became close?

Hindi ko naramdaman na nakapunta na pala si Arnis sa gawi nila. I'm just observing everything until I saw Arnis and Arkray walked their way into our spot.

Napataas ang kilay ko nang tinitigan lang ako ni Arkray paglapit n'ya sakin. "What? Been hit by aphrodite's ecstacy?" I smirked.

Napatawa ito bago ako nilapitan. "I almost didn't recognize you. Pwede ka rin palang maging tao." she chuckled while placing herself beside me.

"Oh come on Kray, it's not that hard to admit facts." Napailing-iling lang ito sa turan ko.

"I would like to call the attention of first batch performers in the backstage, thank you!"

Nagkatinginan kami ni Arkray bago tumayo. I just remember that she's also one of the staff that will monitor tonight. I was even wondering why her when she's still freshmen like me, she should really enjoy this night. It would be a waste if she would just stay at the backstage.
