34. Gloat

'What the sane Lunar Goddess has happened this time? They aren't wolves.' Manto exclaims through our link as his wolves eyes are large.

'Yeah, I caught that.' I respond back.

'What are you wanting to do?'

'We still take them with us to our pack as planned. They need our help and we done offered protection. It will not be the first time we have someone other than a wolf in our pack since we have humans too.' I state and Manto's wolf nods his head ever so lightly.

That there boys is a very large pussy cat though and not just a plain human. Fido snickers. They look like fun! Can we play?

I shake my head out of it and the oldest shifts back. "I am sorry we should have told you but I knew you were wolves from the smell. I promise we will mean no harm to your pack, Beta, just please take us with you. If we run on our own they will catch us. I truly apologize if it is taken as us being untruthful."

I shake my head once more. "There is no need for apologies. I apologize if anything for being wordless for a moment or more. I have just never seen tiger shifters before. It has seemed there are many of shifters that once thought were scarces more in the world than known."

"Our parents were slaughtered in front of us, that much I remember as it is one thing my tiger spirit fought for us to keep against the witches magic trying to wipe things clean as long as we were there and they perform the spells ever so often."

"I wonder why Raine doesn't remember much." I hum out loud.

"That was one of the females right?" He asks and I nod. "The witch would dress as one of their maids so it made it easy to be hidden from them. The females were kept more in the dark then me and my younger brother were. We would know it was a witch as my shifter animal has been a little stronger in me since I was told I shifted while still an infant."

Bet that made for an adorable kitten. Fido keeps up with his commentary. Can't say I bet it would be adorable can't lie about that fact.

I shake my head. "Come with us we will take you to our pack as refuge is still available."

"Thank you." He nods then shifts once more. His tiger not of the normal orange and black strips but a solid white with very little black strips.

I don't bother stripping out of my clothes as I want the stentch from the bruin to be gone and something tells me a simple washing will not help rid the scent the pieces had acquired.

With a nod of my head once in Fido's form and grab my bag before we all four set off in a run. It is mesmorizing to see the tigers run next to us as we have a straight line seemingly working for now. Their speed the same as ours as wolves it is mind boggling.

Here kitty, kitty. Fido pipes up.

This is no time for play Fido. We need to focus more on what we learned and what we may need to do in the future to protect our mate, her sister and these two as well.

You're no fun, Fido wants to play with the big cats.

Think of it like we are then since we are all running back to the pack. I huff a little making it sound like our breathing got a little harsh for a split second.

I wonder if they like playing with yarn. Fido continues.

I swear I will stop us running right now to bite our own tail if you don't knock it off. This is not the proper attitude for a Beta in training should have.

Fido just wanted to have some fun. Besides we run now and it keeps us from feeling how tired our body is when just thinking random fun things. Think about future and the work we may have then it drains energy even more, so in this case Fido for the win. He gloats rather smugly within our mind.

They may be insulted if you ask that though. I state.

Why? Just simple question. I tell them Fido likes burying bones, game of fetch or chase.

I can't help but laugh as it is way to entirely true.

The sun starts to rise just as the packs line come into view finally. I can't help the extra push that I get when seeing I am finally back home. We all run straight to where I know Lance, Ma, Valin, Uncle Levo and Aunt Sherry are waiting but most importantly Raine. I linked Lance when we were close and he said they would all be out by their house, with how early it is I am not sure if Callie is up or not yet.

Manto follows me as he let me lead. Upon coming up to the house we round it to the front and I stop, panting from how hot I feel from the running.

"Okay. This isn't something you see every day." Valin speaks up first.

My nose picks up Raine's scent as she barrels into me a moment later. Her arms wrapping around mine and Fido's neck, we try our best to nuzzle and press her into us but once we can't we move a little and lick her cheek instead.

"Welcome back you two and a warm welcome to the both of you. You will both be safe here." Lance speaks up once over the small shock of actually seeing two tigers. I smirk in wolf form as we pant, wishing I could gloat how I wasn't just sleep deprived or teasing him especially not in a matter this serious.

Ma steps up with spare clothing and lays them down in front of everyone one, including me. "Good to have you back home, I am very proud of you." Ma whispers and scratches behind our ear quickly before moving back over to Lance.

"This is beyond cool!" Callie yells as she comes running from the house.

"I am so glad your home." Raine whispers in my ear and we lick her cheek before shifting and throwing on the clothes. I pull her into my arms and she melts into me as I take in her scent that I have missed since leaving.
