39. Disappear

Last night was such an exciting time. Who am I kidding? Yesterday all together was beyond one of the best days of my entire life, as it definitely comes close second. The first was when I got to spend the day talking to Seth for the first time and embracing the mate bond so yesterday came in second. Makes me beyond happy to see what else lays in my future even if things are still unclear on what will happen.

I know at some point there it may be found out that we are all here and a part of this pack. I don't feel worried over it even if I probably should be but I know this pack will watch over the four of us that they have allowed to be brought in without question.

Ethan and Rafel both light up with happiness when joining the pack. We weren't sure if they would have a mind link but they do with everyone here due to their spirit animals. Magnolia helped Ethan get the mind link under control, while Seth helped Rafel. To watch him step up and be so caring to everyone makes me melt for him even more as if that should be possible.

"How is it coming over there?" Magnolia calls out.

"Good." I reply back. "I think." I mumble with my eyes narrowing at the mixture.

Why is it still lumpy? There shouldn't be any reason making brownies are this hard.

Currently I am helping in the kitchen along with Fayla as last night it was decided to have a huge pack cook out. All in a way to welcome everyone is what Fayla says and everyone agreed with her. So I thought to help cook the food. Fayla and Magnolia are working on main foods along with several others while I thought of getting a head start on the desserts, Magnolia had the recipe out for these things but I am not sure where I have went wrong.

Maybe I should have been outside helping put up tables and chairs. I sigh as I stir the batter.

We got this. Got to learn. Hey grab that thing with the prongs and smash the lumps. Cryilla chimes.

I do as she said pick up a clean fork. Smashing each lump as I stir with the other hand. Sure enough it works and the batter is finally smooth. I could jump for joy we done it. Or well almost, now I have to see how they bake once in the oven and hopefully turns out done.

"Could you cut up these peppers?" Magnolia asks just as I wipe my hands after putting in the brownies.

"Sure." I nod at least that is something I can't mess up.

Time flies by and I can't help but glance out the windows and see Seth with everyone else. Magnolia has been doing the same and to see my sister smile is everything, as she watches Ethan laughing with the others. They are out by the line of grills and fire pits.

Everyone in the pack is invited out for tonights event. Even some of the trackers came in having felt new links from the four of us and they confirmed there is no odd scent. Not even with Ethan and Rafel being tigers they have the packs scent only now. It made everyone happy and actually more at ease too knowing it will be harder for the bears to track us here. Even though rogues have still be testing the borders just as they have for a long while even before we got here but all four of them got unlucky as it seems everyone all slipped by the rogues unknowingly coming here.

Finally we are all gathered outdoors under the moon that rises high in the sky earlier this time of year. Food is going around and the main course was so delicious. To see all these people mingle and get along is astounding, others even brought in dishes with them so there was double the food it seems.

"Dessert time!" Sherry calls out as many people bring out platters of things.

I almost could cry at how the brownies look. Highly proud of myself for making them and at least they turned out looking nice. Thing is I am nervous since we were all so busy no one got to test to see how they tasted.

Seth comes up to me as I was standing and talking with Vi. She is so sweet and I enjoyed talking with her but can tell she is a total workaholic.

On his plate there is a brownie and he smiles at me while handing me a plate with several sweet treats. So many of them I don't even know what the name is but they smell so good.

Tomorrow is apparently when we will go back to seeing what everyone knows to see what to do about the Bruin. I heard little bits that Ethan and Rafel know how to maybe get our memories back. Which makes my stomach turn slightly. Along with I question if I want to know and remember but honestly, I need to on it all.

A cough comes from next to me and I Seth's face is scrunched up. "You okay?"

"Yeah." He coughs then move to the table behind me where our drinks sit. "That brownie is different from what they normally make."

I sigh. "I made the brownies today."

Seth eyes widen and he nods. "Oh, it is good."

I narrow my eyes and he gulps but can't even take another bite like he acted like he was going to do. More coughs sound around and I see some even spit out the brownie.

"I think someone mistaken cornstartch for the powdered sugar." Lance grimaces.

I could literally disappear.

How could I make that big of a mistake?

"Raine, dear." Fayla can't help but smile.

"I am sorry and I literally thought it was the powdered sugar."

Everyone giggles.

"Oh nothing to be sorry for happens to the best of us. Plus makes for a funny sight as so many went for the brownies and they got a surprise you basically tricked them without even trying and I call that talent." Vi laughs.

Her laugh is infectious and I can't help but laugh when others start to as well.

The night goes on and it has been a funny little thing on what happened. I tried though and failed. For now on I will pay closer attention to labels and the recipe. I just thrown the brownies out into the trash can with what was left on the table, they don't need to stay there after them being a failure. Oh well I will have fails and then I will make some tasty things.

"Here you go Dear." Fayla hands me a glass. "It is a lemonade tea."

I take a sip and hum. "This is delicious."

"Well thank you." Vi smiles having heard me.

We talk about how the daycare center has been going. Even though I hadn't been there three days now I plan to go back tomorrow after talking with everyone in the morning over what we may need to do with what is going on. Chelsey is so understanding and loves when I can come in to help.

"This is where you ran off too then hm?" Seth whispers in my ear as his arms wrap around me.

"I didn't run off. I simply took the brownies and threw them out with what was still left on the table." I shrug. "I came here and was just talking about the daycare center and drinking this tea."

His scent washes over me and I could moan at how good he smells. My body instantly reacts and my core throbs.

"You want to go home?" Seth whispers.

I nod and we bid everyone a goodnight as many are starting to leave. Although I am not tired and plan to have fun with my mate.
