22. Catch Up

Two full days of heat and finally it has came to an end. Raine is currently sleeping as she needs the rest from everything her body has went through with pulling us to complete the mate bond to mate and succeed in making a pup.

The last two days I have gave her multiple orgasms by my tongue or fingers. She has done the same for me several different times when she wanted too never once did I ask her to only took what she gave me. We didn't complete the mate bond but there were times I sure wanted to sink into her warmth and mark her as mine in more ways than one.

Her breath is even as she sleeps on her stomach after I cleaned her and came back into the room. I put on a pair of clothes that Lance had brought for me in a bag the morning after we came here. Our food has been brought to the door on a cart just as the pack does for all females in heat with their mates to with them. One amazing factor I have liked seeing as I was older and knew of such things. This pack truly looks after each other and what anyone is to need. Even if it is embrassing in a way that during heat it is expected of such things to happen that everyone knows what is going on but never once really spoken on, maybe teasing but that is all. The only thing spoken down upon is if the mate doesn't tend to their mate during a time of need.

With my clothes on, I open the door and leave the room. Not that I want to in the least but some fresh air sounds so good right now and it has been two days since I have.

The moon is high in the sky as I look up once outside the packhouse. Everything is so quiet as most are sleeping this time of night. A couple of warriors patrolling pass by and nod their heads. Going back into the packhouse once my stomach rumbles lightly, I decide some food would be great.

I round the corner and stop when I see Magnolia at the counter mixing something in a bowl.

"Hello." She smiles.

"Hi." I smile back with a nod. "I didn't mean to distrub you, was just going to get something to eat."

"Oh you didn't disturb anything, just making up some fudge brownies. They were a hit with the pack tonight and I couldn't sleep so figure might as well make some for tomorrow." She smiles. "There is some cold cuts in the fridge."

"Thank you." I walk over and get a couple sandwiches out. "How have you been doing?"

"I love it here and everyone is so welcoming. This kitchen is like a personal haven and now becoming a person here is my spot to work in the pack."

"That is wonderful to hear." I smile after swallowing a bite down.

"So no mark yet? Darn, you two are stronger than I think I will be but it is sweet you guys are going at your paces." Magnolia smirks. "I'm just teasing." She laughs.

I almost choke on my bite. "Uh, no we are doing what we want instead of the heat forcing things quickly."

She nods slowly and smiles. "How is she?" Magnolia looks up from the batter.

"She is doing better now it has ended and resting like she needs." I nod slowly and start on the second sandwich trying to slow myself down.

"You are great for her, Seth, and I am happy for the both of you." Magnolia smiles wide.

"Need any help?" I offer once I finish the food.

"Nah I got this." She smiles as she places them in the oven and starts on washing her bowl out.

I nod then leave the kitchen once bidding a goodnight to her. I move through the packhouse and pass by the second floor where I see light shine from the offices. Valin's is dark but I knock once on the Lance's before hearing the come in. One thing about these rooms soundproof only if the box is activated which it isn't unless a major meeting is going on.

"I didn't expect to see you so soon." Lance smirks looking up from the paperwork.

"She is sleeping with the heat ended. You're here late." I walk over and sit in the chair across from him.

"Yeah, yesterday we had a couple rogues try to come across the border but nothing more. Patrol wasn't able to catch them as they were dodgy before hightailing it out of the pack lands." Lance shakes his head.

I catch up to speed on the paperwork and what is going on since I have been occupied with my mate. Nothing still on the front of finding out about the pack my mate and her sister came from but there is a pack down south that may know something and is traveling to see if it is the same pack as the name we were given or not as the Alpha there can't recall correctly.

"So we may know something in a day or twos time or we may know the same as now." Lance sighs.

I sit back in the chair. "Unless we take a tracker or two of the best here and send the way Raine and Magnolia came from? It would be dangerous but our trackers are stealthy when it comes to staying low and unnoticed."

Lance hums and taps his pen on the desk. "Could work." He tilts his head back and forth. "That will be an option we may use should this with the Alpha come up with nothing. We will run it by Valin and Levo tomorrow as well."

"Sounds good. Thanks for catching me up and I will be here in the morning back for training."

"Seth." Lance calls just as I go to leave the office.

"Yeah?" I turn to look at him.

"You have grown into an incredible young man. Your mother is very proud of you and so am I. You will make an excellent Beta when the time comes and Valin steps down. Over the last several years watching you grow even more, truly has been the best."

"Thanks. You all have helped show me the way many times over and I am glad Ma moved us back here. This is home." I smile and leave the office.

Making my way back to Raine's room, I close the door and take off my shoes and clothes. Leaving my boxers on, I slide in bed and she is quick to move over to curl into my arms. Finally everything seems to ease in my mind as my eyes close holding my mate close to me.

Never has life felt so peaceful even with the unknown laying ahead of us.
