50. Deer

'Breath love.' Seth links.

Taking a deep breath and releasing it. I stare at the warlock.

"So why are you here? They aren't your actual friends." Lance asks.

"I still consider Ethan and Rafel my friend as it was genuine for me. They were all I had at that pack."

"What do you mean all you had?" Valin questions.

"My parents don't give a crap about me. Their concern is if I practice magic or not to where they can tap into it while we live on that land since our magic stems mainly from the land there as there is gold under ground in caverns which is a powerful source to draw from. I was never very good at the magic so they don't have anything to do with me, the leader put me in charge of watching Ethan and Rafel but I became friends with them which also earned me a lashing." The man sighs.

"Go on lift my shirt you can see the fresh wounds still." He nods to his back.

Levo moves and pulls his shirt up. "There are whip marks here."

"It may be hard because trust I know doesn't come lightly to people like me from that area but I honestly just want to help Ethan and Rafel along with the others here."

"How did you find them?" Lance speaks up once more.

"There was a piece left behind from Rafel, a comb it had a few pieces of hair. There were other personal items they had left but I burned them before I came here along with the comb I used. The ladies didn't leave any personal items behind for them to cast a tracking spell that is how they hadn't been found once they were smart and made many circles with their scent."

"Why did it take you this long to get here?" Lance continues.

"I failed a couple times with the spell and it wasn't easy doing it without my parents knowing. I hid the comb from them. Once I knew they had left I went to their rooms because I heard the actual truth and I couldn't have them slaughtered for selfish reasons the bears and my family has. After the spell worked for me I had to wait until my chance opened up, that is when I cut my ties to my parents by saying the forbidden phrase and hitch hiking." The man shrugs.

"So you can't practice magic anymore?" Lance looks at him warily.

"Yeah just a little harder for me but it isn't like I was good to begin with."

'Lance and Valin are getting honest reads from him and so am I. There is no up tick in heart rate, no sweating, nor fidgeting.' Seth links me.

'I've noticed the same.'

'He never fought either against the iron he told us what he was as soon as we found him walking through here. Even let us shackle him with no issue.' Seth informs me.

"You say you want to help." Lance starts and the man nods. "Start with your name and how you plan to help them and us."

"My name is Jirus, sixteen years old, and I will do anything you may need of me Alpha as there is nothing left for me as you now know everything about me. I can also say that Rafel is a person close to me as the pull to him from the start once he turned fifteen told me I am his mate."

Now it's my turn to be shocked.

"Oh and I may have brought every single paper with me in that bag there to show what rogues they have and are using for hunters. Along with all my personal belongings so I can't be tracked." Jirus smiles wide.

"Now that's what I'm talking about." Valin smirks when he stands up with a file in hand from the bag on the ground. "Got to say this right here is smart thinking and a way to earn trust while proving wanting to help."

Lance nods slowly. "Alright help us and you can earn your spot here. One last question."

"Anything." Jirus states.

"What other shifters do they have there with them?"

Jirus explains the plans but we already knew of from having memories back when we were younger hearing it all as well but they weren't concerned since they were to wipe our slate clean per say. Even though we already knew he just confirmed once more for us all as well as telling us how it was set to be completed by the end of year.

"There at the pack is two per shifter. They have foxes, panthers, and deer. The two main shifters they were concerned with is right here in this pack."

"Deer?" Magnolia speaks up for the first time.

Jirus nods and moves his head around. "They are bouncy on the feet and have some traits that could help that isn't just brute strengths to be taken from them. Most deer shifters prefer to live where they isn't many humans so extremely cold weather areas so they are hidden more and also the only type of shifter that don't have a chance of having mates outside of their own kind."

"How much you want to bet mates could be here?" Valin laughs lightly then stops. "It's been a pop up thing and we got lots of unmated wolves still."

"There is a chance since all these shifters at the Bruin currently are older twenties to early thirties. The youngest is here already also. It has taken more magic from my parents to keep the other shifters wiped with memory and like the foxes and panthers are actually locked up in the cells." Jirus informs us.

Levo moves and unlocks the cuffs from Jirus.

"Let's go talk in my office as I tell the pack it's clear. Seems we have another member to add in. First we need a plan it's time to free the others and end this mess so all these innocents can have a free life as they should and the ones here that are our new members can enjoy life with their mates." Lance speaks up and walks toward the pack house.

"Perfect, I am with you top wolf." Jirus smiles. "Can we pick Rafel up though it's been so long since I got to see him."

"Yeah I'll have him come to the office." Lance smiles as he passes us.

We all follow him and I link Sherry letting her know what is happening and to inform Fayla for us.

Once inside the pack house, I see a teen that works at the daycare center on the floor with Callie and Aysun.

"I will watch them while you guys are in the office. Fayla caught me while I was walking by and I don't mind at all."

"Thank you." I smile then kiss Aysun's head before going up the stairs to the very full office.
