Heather went back to her room, searching for another kids book to read to her brother. Before she even had a chance to look through the pile at the back of her closet, a loud knock hit the door. Heather bolted up, opening it as quickly as she could. Miley was at the door, with a small tray of cookies. Her moms were standing behind her with a bottle of wine and some juice boxes.

“Come on in.” Heather said, nodding them toward the living room.
“Where should we put this?” Miley asked, slightly shaking the tray of cookies.
“You can put them on the counter.” Heather replied.
“Is your mom home? We were hoping to get to see her.”
“Yeah she is. I’ll go get her.” She smiled, walking to her mother’s room.

Alyssa wasn’t on her bed anymore, she was digging through a box on the floor.

“Hey mom,” She said.
“Hey Heather.”
“They’re here. I don’t know how you didn’t hear them knock.”
“Sorry, I had my headphones on.”
“They said they were hoping to get to talk to you before we left.”
“I’ll be in there in just a second,” Alyssa said, not looking up from the box.
“Okay then,” Heather replied. “They have wine and cookies by the way.”

Alyssa nodded in reply, continuing to dig through the box. Heather thought it would be better not to ask, but she was curious what she was looking for.

“My mom said she’d be out in a minute.”
“Perfect.”
“We haven’t properly introduced ourselves to you,” One of her moms said. “I’m Vanessa."

Vanessa was decently tall,  nearly as tall as the door frame which is about 6’0. She had black hair that was tied up in a messy bun and dark brown skin. Her light brown eyes complimented the rest of her features. She was a bit on the bigger side, but it seemed she worked out often. There were a few small scars along the sides of her face, but it wasn’t clear what they were from. Sara on the other hand was a lot shorter than Vanessa, maybe around 5’5. She had dirty blonde hair and amber colored eyes. She had a few dark freckles along her nose. Her face was pale, but her arms were tan. Her hair was curled and rested just above her shoulders. She looked a lot like Miley did.

“And I’m Sara.” She smiled.
“It’s nice to meet you both,” Heather said. “Both of you are very pretty.”
“Aw thank you.” Vanessa replied, placing her hand over her heart.

After a few moments of small talk, Alyssa walked in with Corey in her arms.

“Hey!” Alyssa said, putting Corey down.
“Hi Alyssa. We brought cookies and wine!” Sara replied, showing off the bottle of wine.
“And juice boxes.” Vanessa added.
“Thank you guys.”
“Of course! We accidentally bought too many and we thought we’d just give them to you.”
“What were you buying them for?” She asked, holding Corey’s shoulders with her hands.
“A party we were having for Jack, our oldest.”
“Oh alright.”

Sara looked up at the clock and then frowned.

“Well we better get going, I don’t want to be out driving too late tonight.” She said.
“Well, have fun girls. Make it home safe.” Alyssa said, waving goodbye to the four girls.
“Bye sissy!” Corey said.
“Bye buddy.” Heather replied, smiling at her brother.
