School was coming to an end, they had just over a month left until graduation, and Heather was more than excited.
“I’m so excited for graduation. I don’t wanna stay here any longer.”
“Well you better visit me in college. I expect to see you at least once a month.” Miley stated, pointing at her.
“Well I’ll try.” Heather replied.
“Are you gonna go to college Heather?” She asked.
“No, probably not. I might attend art school next year, but for now I just want to focus on painting.”
“I didn’t know you enjoyed art, Heather.” Leo said, putting his bag beside Miley.“Hey Leo, how did you manage to be late to lunch?” Heather replied.
“I was talking to Vance.”
“Did you finally get everything cleared up?”
“I thought so. But he broke up with me.”
“Aw, I'm sorry!” Miley said, wrapping her arms around Leo.“Ah it’s okay. It’s probably better for me anyway. My grades have been slipping since we started dating and I did just get out of a relationship when he asked me out.” He said.
“It’s really just your taste in guys, I think.” Miley responded, poking his forehead.
“Shut up Miley.”We sat on our phones for a minute, just trying to pass the time when Miley suddenly had a lot to talk about.
“Is your dad going to let you go to prom? What about your cap and gown for graduation, do you have a way to pay for that?”
“I’m 18, he doesn’t have a say on if I go to prom or not. And yes Miley, being a waiter plus babysitting really helps with money.”
“Do you have a way to get to prom?”
“I’m helping set it up for it, so I’ll just stay later and bring my suit. Or I'll drive myself.” He said.
“We all need to go dress shopping. Heather, you should invite Jada.”“I don’t know,” She replied.
“Oh come on, she knows you like her, maybe this could be a nice way for you two to bond and help her figure out if she likes girls or not.” Miley said.
“Okay fine. I’ll ask if she wants to go shopping for prom outfits.”
“Is she even-”
“Heather, can I talk to you?” Jada interrupted.Jada was standing behind her, and they weren’t exactly being quiet. How much of that did she hear? It didn’t matter, she would try and be as normal as possible.
“Yeah what’s up?” She smiled, turning around.
“Uhm- would you like to go to prom with me?” She asked, tugging at the cuffs of her sleeves.
“Like, as your date?” Heather replied, tugging at the skin between her fingers.
“Obviously as my date.” Jada said, playfully rolling her eyes.
“Yes. I’ll go with you.” She replied, her face heating up.
“Great.”“And Jada?”
“Yeah?”
“Do you want to go outfit shopping with us? We were just talking about inviting you.” Heather asked.
“Yeah of course.” She answered.Heather turned back around with a huge smile on her face.
“I’m surprised she asked you to go with her.” Leo said.
“So am I.”
“Should we go outfit shopping this weekend? Since prom is next Friday.” Miley asked.
“I don’t think I’m doing anything.”
“Me either.”“Leo, can you drive us? You’re the only one who can legally drive.”
“Heather has her license, doesn’t she?”
“Yes, but I’m not exactly a good driver.” She said, rubbing the back of her neck.
“That’s probably not true.”
“I’m not even allowed around my mom’s car. She has to open the door for me.”“Oh. Then yeah I can drive. You guys haven’t seen my new car yet.”
“Did you get the Sedan you wanted?”
“Nope. I got a jeep.” He said, crossing his arms with pride.
“A jeep? Interesting.” Heather laughed.
