I'm just posting the prologue just to see how it does (it might be a while till i update) im also working on two stories cuz im indecisive

"I'm sorry." Eliza Graves looked at her two best friends, Vander and Silco. The three of them had met when they were five, that was about ten years ago and they remained friends ever since. "Why? El what's going on?" Vander climbed off a bar stool and ran over to hug Eliza who was crying. Silco stayed in his seat as he shivered with fear, "Why are you sorry?" Eliza cried in Vander's arms. "I have to leave," she paused, "tonight." Silco jumped up, "Why?" both boys' eyes widened as they asked in sync. "I can't tell you." Eliza wiped her tears. Silco moved closer to Eliza, "Is someone hurting you? Are you safe?" He rested his hand on her shoulder. "I'm fine, things are just complicated." Eliza paused before saying 'complicated' since it was a vast understatement. "El?" Vander's eyes watered. "I just wanted to say goodbye. And maybe get one more hug, I don't know the next time I'll get one." Eliza tried to smile through her tears. "There's nothing we can do to stop you?" Vander looked Eliza dead in her eyes and she nodded, "I know it's sudden. I don't want to leave you, but I don't have a choice." Silco shook his head in denial, "No- No, no, no." he ran into Eliza hugging her tight, "You can't-" he held back tears. "I'm sorry Silco." she returned the tight hug, in an attempt to make this easier. Vander moved closer and joined their hug. They kept this embrace for what felt like an eternity, but it still wasn't enough.

"How about one last drink?" Vander let go of Eliza and Silco. "Why not?" Eliza smiled, and as much as she convinced them it was real, she knew it wasn't. Silco and Vander sat back down at the bar and reached for another cup. "I'm just going to run to the bathroom real quick, I look a mess." Eliza awkwardly chuckled while she turned towards the hallway. "Alright! We'll have your usual ready for when you get back!" Vander shouted as she walked further and further away.

When Eliza made it to the bathroom, she shut the door and fell to the floor. She, unsuccessfully, tried to hold back sobs. She cried until she thought she was going to pass out. "I have to do this." She whispered. Eliza wiped her tears and used the bathroom counter to climb back to her feet. She reached into her bag and pulled out two envelopes. One labeled Vander, the other labeled Silco. She set them down on the counter then quietly left the bathroom. She continued further down the hall where the back door was located. She stopped as she reached for the handle. She heard Vander and Silco laughing at the other end of the hall.

Eliza didn't want to leave it, she wanted to run back and join their laughter just like she always would. But she knew, she had to leave. So she absorbed the sound of their laughter once more, she wanted to remember her two best friends by their laugh. She opened the door and was welcomed with the unfresh air of the Undercity. She made her way out the door. As she closed the door she whispered to herself, "I'm so sorry."
