Chapter 5- Trapped

A few hours passed and Ezra was still in that chair, she changed her position so she was sitting with her feet on the floor and her arms on the armrests. Ezra didn't say anything, she just sat there staring at the floor. She didn't attempt to help Vander. She couldn't bring herself too, as much as she needed to. Ezra couldn't tell what was going on since she was facing the opposite direction, but she heard Vander. "Vi?" He was obviously confused, "What are you doing here?" He asked while she hugged him tightly. "We're breaking you out." Vi looked at Vander with a mix of emotions. She was happy, guilty, and feeling so many other things. "Milo!" Vander exclaimed. Vi backed away from Vander and let Milo undo the locks that restrained Vander. "Are all of you here?" Ezra finally spoke up, she had only turned her head to look over her shoulder. "It's just me, Milo, and Claggor. We're here to help." Vi responded. "I'll get you out in a minute." Milo said as he started to unlock Vander. "Don't bother." Ezra slowly stood up and Vi gasped. "How long-" Vi tried to ask how long Ezra had been free, but Vander shook his head telling her to stop. Ezra turned around and was happy to see her children alive and unhurt.

Vi ran over to Ezra and hugged her. "What happened at Benzo's?" Vi asked in Ezra's ear.Ezra sighed. "Don't worry about it." she pulled out of the hug and kissed Vi's forehead. "Everything will be okay." Vi forced a smile and walked back by Vander.

"How did you get in?" Vander asked with curiosity in his tone. "We found an open window, it was; easy." Vi realized what she had done as she said it. "Shit!" Ezra mumbled. "You have to get out of here now!" Vander tried to hurry, but it was too late. "Welcome." Silco said as he stepped out from a hallway. "You have my congratulations, but I'm afraid this will be a short reunion." Several people followed in after Silco. "Have you heard of the rumor, Vander the coward ran off with his kids. And they never returned." Everyone was scared for what came next.

Vi had put on Vanders old pair of cast iron gloves in order to defend them. "Claggor," she pulled the leather strap on the gloves, "find another way out of here." Claggor nodded. "Vi, you don't have to do this." Vander stopped her momentarily, but she ignored it and moved on. A big man that towered over Vi walked towards her, but she took him out with one big swing. Ezra looked up and saw several of Silco's henchmen running towards Vi. Ezra ran forward in a panic, but as soon as she stepped out of the room, the guard from earlier grabbed her. He wrapped his arm around her body and placed his hand on her mouth so she couldn't move or speak. Ezra watched Vi carefully. Luckily, not a single one of them could stop Vi, so Ezra's fears changed to confidence.

Claggor had found a soft spot in the wall and started to hammer his way through it to create an exit. Milo had also successfully begun to break Vander free.

One of Silco's men downed a vial of shimmer before approaching Vi. She came full speed at him, but failed as he grabbed her neck and threw her to the ground. "Leave her out of this, this is between me and you!" Vander shouted, still partly tied to the chair. "You had your chance!" Silco shouted back. Ezra stomped on the guard's foot and ran towards Vi, who was running to her. Before the men infected with shimmer could reach Vi again, she ran into the room where Vander had been, taking Ezra with her. Vi closed the door, locking it behind her. The second the door was safely shut, Vander was free and Claggor continued to break through the wall, while the shimmer infused man tried to break through the door. What no one expected was for Powder's part in the plan.

A few days prior, the four kids had snuck into Piltover and Powder stole several blue gems. Tonight she used them to blow up Silco's warehouse. There were four explosions, but only two really mattered. One explosion caused Sevika, Silco's right-hand-woman, to lose her arm as she jumped to protect Silco. The other sent Ezra, Vander, Vi, Milo, and Claggor flying. Milo and Claggor suffered brutal deaths from that explosion.

Powder, unaware of the results of her bomb, was proud that she finally got something to work.

Silco's warehouse was left destroyed, the people inside injured and some dead. Unfortunately for Vander, Silco's man that took the shimmer, lived and now Vander was left to fight that battle. Vander immediately was able to get a few good swings in, but it didn't solve much as the shimmer was quickly winning that battle. Vander was forced to the floor and when he stood back up, Silco had stabbed him in the stomach. In reaction, Vander grabbed his neck and choked Silco, but Vander quickly lost his strength as he fell into a pile of shimmer vials.

While that was happening, Ezra laid beside Vi, both were stuck under some debris from the warehouse. Ezra was out yet again, she was already lightheaded and tired from before, so it didn't take much for her to lose consciousness again. She didn't suffer many injuries, same with Vi.

Vander, in order to protect his children, he reached for a vial of shimmer, and drank it. The adrenaline from it rushed through his body, giving him the strength to protect Vi. He climbed back up the bridge and immediately killed the only standing henchman left, the one who also took the shimmer. Vander saw Silco as he watched Vander who was caught in a blind, shimmer filled rage. Vander was about to go after him, but once he saw Vi, struggling to make it out alive, he grabbed her, along with Ezra, and jumped out through a hole in the wall, just before the building exploded.

Moments later, Vander was found on the ground, out cold with Vi and Ezra. Vi cried over Vanders body.

Powder came out from around the corner, "Vi, did you see? My monkey-bomb finally worked!" Powder was smiling ear to ear. "You did this?" Vi looked desperately at Powder. Powder's smile fell as she looked around, "I was saving you," Powder stuttered as she started to cry, "I was only trying to help." Vi moved closer to Powder, "I told you to stay away!" Vi punched Powder from a blind rage. "Why did you leave me?" Powder screamed and cried as she fell to the ground. "Because you're a jinx!" Vi grabbed Powder by the jaw, "Milo was right." Powder cried as blood dripped down her face. Vi looked at her hand, covered in her own sister's blood. "Violet, please?" Powder cried. There was nothing she could say, so she just walked away. Powder cried for Vi as she walked off into an alleyway. Vi never came out from that alleyway

Silco appeared from around the corner. He stopped when he saw Powder. Silco went down on one knee to level with her, "Hello little girl, where is your sister?" Powder looked up at Silco and froze, unsure of what to do or say. A moment later she jumped into him, knocking him to the ground. She wrapped her arms around him, she was scared and alone. Silco's henchmen looked at him as he figured out what to do. "She left me. She is not my sister anymore!" Powder cried. Silco paused for a moment and looked around at the chaos around him. He wrapped his arms around Powder to return the hug, "It's okay, we'll show them. We'll show them all." Silco stood up and carried Powder in his arms. He turned to one of his henchmen, "Bring the woman, be gentle." He said as he turned to walk away. The henchmen obliged and one of the carefully carried Ezra behind Silco.
