Please check out my other story its a possesive ascended astarion x reader. How was yalls halloween? I didn't do much, anyway onto the chapter.

The goblin camp had fallen quite well. Like all things if it goes up it can come down. Hopefully that logic applies to noble pricks, I thought. I wondered how they were fairing without their prized weapon as we trekked back to the emerald grove. We had rescued the druid Halsin and he had been a valuable asset to our cause. Imposing as his size was he had a warm and happy aura, once he spoke of joining the camp I offered him one of my bracelets but he had declined.

"If nature has given you this gift I am not to get in her way." He gave me a big smile and continued walking by my side. It was a stark difference to the way I was usually treated by men of tall stature. Bodyguards who saw me as below them. The thoughts plagued me as we walked.

"Why don't you go ahead with the others Halsin, Y/N seems a little lost in their thoughts." Astarion spoke, his words breaking me out of what was sure to become an unhealthy spiral. He moved closer leaning me against him. As Halsin moved away he spoke again.

"If that is what happens when he is nearby he is not staying with us."

"It's fine, I just got a bit lost. He's nice, it's different from what I'm used to with men that large. I want to give him a chance for me to form better memories."

"Fine, but if it doesn't get better he leaves, I don't want you hurting because of him."

With Astarion's arm wrapped around me, we continued our journey, making small talk to keep our minds occupied. Halsin, perhaps sensing the camaraderie forming between us, maintained a polite distance but didn't seem offended by our conversation. He shared stories of his life in the wilderness, of the bond he shared with the creatures of the grove, and of the druidic magic that flowed through him.

As the grove came into view, I couldn't help but feel a mixture of relief and anticipation. Our group was becoming an unlikely family, each member with their own strengths and quirks. Halsin, with his warm aura and humble disposition, was a welcomed addition, and I was determined to give him the chance he deserved.

As we entered the grove, the familiar sights and sounds of nature greeted us. The ancient trees swayed gently in the breeze, and the calls of woodland creatures echoed through the air. Halsin's presence seemed to harmonize effortlessly with the natural surroundings, a testament to his deep connection with the wild. Once we arrived at our campsite, I turned to Halsin with a grateful smile.

"Thank you, Halsin, for joining us. Your knowledge and wisdom have been invaluable to our cause. You are welcome here among us." Halsin's eyes sparkled with gratitude.

"It is an honor to be here, among kindred spirits who hold nature in their hearts." As the day transitioned into evening, the camp began to take on a festive atmosphere. We worked together to prepare a hearty meal, sharing stories and laughter as we chopped vegetables and stoked the fire. The camaraderie among us was palpable, a testament to the bonds we were forming.

The tieflings who had found refuge in the grove were not forgotten. They had faced their own hardships, fleeing persecution and seeking sanctuary in this haven of nature. It was only fitting that we extend our camaraderie to them as well. We extended an invitation to the tieflings, inviting them to join our gathering. The camp was now a vibrant mix of races and backgrounds, united by a shared purpose and a desire for a better future.

The night grew alive with music and laughter, the tieflings sharing tales of their own rich traditions and customs. They danced to the rhythm of drums, their graceful movements painting a vivid tapestry against the backdrop of the grove. As the evening wore on, I found myself standing beside Halsin, watching the festivities unfold with a heart full of joy.

"Thank you, Halsin," I said, "for bringing this sense of unity to our camp. It's a beautiful sight to see." Halsin's eyes twinkled with satisfaction.

"Nature teaches us that diversity is strength. Together, we are a formidable force, and with the bonds we forge tonight, we shall face whatever challenges come our way." We made some small talk before we parted ways. I looked to my lover.

I made my way to Astarion who was quite a ways through a bottle of wine.

"Here's my little treat with their cheeks all flushed, you will come to my bed tonight, won't you?" I hesitated, my past coming to me again before being reminded of the wonderful night he had given me last time.

"Of course, I wouldn't want it any other way."
