If you have played the game you will see where this chapter is leading, if you have not then enjoy the surprises later on!

We begun our travel through the underdark. Like it's name it was dark but that did not take away from its beauty. We had stumbled along a myconid colony lit up with vibrant mushrooms. Unfortunately we also found an injured deep gnome who was being hunted by duergar. She gave us some boots which we used to barter passage across the lake to an ancient Sharan monument that had been remade as a forge.

Then came the trek in the shadowcursed lands, Shadowheart had revealed she was a follower of Shar which led to a bit of tension that we where still easing over.we helped some lost harpers which led us back to the last light inn. The high harper Jahira had given us an interesting welcome before leading us to Isobel, a cleric of Selune. Before we had gotten the chance to speak the inn was attacked by true souls looking to kidnap Isobel.

We fought long and hard, I couldn't let them take her. I had so many questions to ask her. As the fight drew to a close Isobel looked upon me.

"You're Y/N correct? The moon maiden spoke of you."

"So I imagine, anything in particular?"

"We both have experience similar loss, I lost Aylin, you lost Natneri. She thinks we can help each other."

"I do not see how, I am no follower of Selune"

"Yet you still follow some of our customs"

"Old habits die hard, but I'll indulge you, how does she think we can help each other" Isobel's eyes held a mixture of weariness and determination as she began to explain.

"The moon maiden, in her infinite wisdom, sees the threads of fate weaving a tapestry of shared pain and resilience between us. Loss, it seems, has bound us together, and she believes that our shared experiences can offer solace and strength in the face of adversity." I regarded Isobel with a thoughtful expression, still catching my breath from the recent skirmish.

"I won't deny that life has dealt its fair share of hardships. But how can our shared pain be of any help? What does Selune hope to achieve by intertwining our destinies?" Isobel's gaze softened, and she spoke with a quiet sincerity.

"Selune's ways are mysterious, and her plans often unfold in unexpected ways. It is not just about the pain we've endured but also the resilience we've shown. She believes that by sharing our stories, we can find healing and perhaps even play a role in shaping a brighter destiny for those who have suffered." The room around us bore the scars of the recent battle, but there was an odd sense of calm settling in as Isobel continued. "I've witnessed the strength that emerges from embracing one's own darkness, just as the moon waxes and wanes. It is a cycle of renewal, and Selune believes that together, we can guide others through the shadows towards the light." I mulled over Isobel's words, the gravity of the situation sinking in.

"So, she thinks our combined experiences can be a beacon of hope for those who have lost their way?" Isobel nodded, a solemn smile touching her lips.

"Exactly. Your journey, like mine, has been marked by sorrow and challenges. By coming together, we may illuminate a path for others to navigate the darkness. Selune believes that even in the bleakest moments, there is potential for growth and redemption."

As the echoes of the battle faded and the inn settled into an uneasy calm, I considered the weight of Selune's proposition. We began to our walk back to camp leaving Isobel at the inn.

"So Selune's trying to make a zealot out of you?" Astarion said.

"I guess so, but I have no intention to convert, Selune knows that. I sympathize with Isobel though, I assume this meeting of ours will have implications later, my conversion or not. I assume it has something to do with guiding someone Selune lost back to her"

The moonlit path back to camp was lined with shadows, the night air carrying the distant sounds of creatures in the underdark. Astarion, walking alongside me, tilted his head in contemplation.

"Guiding someone back to Selune, huh? Sounds like a quest straight out of a bard's tale? Why does a god think she's entitled to your time just because your ex lover was one of hers." I glanced at him, my steps measured.

"I'm not sure. But I think it's the shared pain Isobel mentioned, the understanding that comes from facing loss. Selune seems to believe in the transformative power of empathy. And, well, Isobel seems to think our stories can offer solace and strength to someone." Astarion chuckled, the sound carrying a hint of skepticism.

"Solace and strength. Those are lofty goals. What if we're not up to the task?"

"Then we'll find out along the way," I replied, my thoughts still processing the weight of the moon maiden's expectations. " I'm sure Selune's plans are going to lead somewhere important. I don't think she would have shown up in an avatar if not."

As we reached our campsite, the rest of our party greeted us. Gale was engrossed in a tome, while Shadowheart sat alone, her expression contemplative. Lae'zel sharpened her blade with focused determination.

"Glad to see you two made it back in one piece," Gale remarked, looking up from his reading.I nodded, my gaze drifting to the night sky.

"We had a brief encounter with some true souls at the inn. Isobel is safe, but it seems our meeting with her has drawn us into something larger, something involving Selune." Shadowheart raised an eyebrow, her eyes narrowing slightly.

"Selune, the moon maiden? What business do we have with her? I thought we were on a quest of our own."

"A quest, yes, but it seems our paths are intertwined with something greater," I explained, sharing the details of my conversation with Isobel. "Selune sees potential in our shared experiences, and she believes we can guide someone lost back to her. It's a mysterious task, but one I'm willing to undertake, if not for me than for Natneri."

Lae'zel grunted, resuming her blade-sharpening ritual. "I care not for the whims of gods, but if our paths lead to strength and victory, I will follow."

Astarion, leaning against a nearby rock, smirked. "So, we're the chosen ones now? Guiding lost souls and all that?" I sighed, realizing the gravity of the situation. "Chosen or not, we have a role to play. Let's rest for now. Tomorrow, we continue our journey, wherever it may lead us."
