Simon & Brittany- Beautiful Brittany
It was the middle of class when Simon asked Miss Smith if he could get a drink of water. He walked down the quiet halls to get a sip of water from the water fountain when all of a sudden he heard a soft sob coming from the girl's washroom, it bothered him to think that someone was crying. Simon stood there for a while debating whether or not he should check on them. He cleared his throat, "um hello," he said as he popped his the ladies' room. He didn't hear a response but instead more sobbing, Simon then decided to enter the girl's washroom.
"Hello?" He asked once again as he slowly began to walk in further all the stalls were open except one, the girl was crying from in there. "Um h-hello?" Simon said as he lightly knocked on the door, "are you alright-"
"Go away!" The girl yelled from the other side of the stall door.
Simon gave out a slight jump, he didn't know what to do, but he could have sworn he knew that voice. "Brittany... Is that you?" Simon didn't hear a word after that instead he heard the stall unlocking.
The door opened to reveal miserable-looking Brittany, her eyes a d nose were all red from crying and her cheeks were completely flustered. "Simon, what are you doing here? This is the girl's room!"
"I know I just- I heard you crying," Simon announced honestly, "what happened?"
As soon as he said that tears weld up in Brittany's eyes. "Well I-I was in science class and I was partnered up with Jamie who I had a huge crush on a-and then he told the entire class that he didn't want to be partnered up with me, and he called me a rat!" Brittany explained through sobs.
"He said what?" Simon's compassion soon turned into outrage, "Brittany you shouldn't feel bad."
"Simon he was right I mean look at me, " Brittany said as she walked to the washroom mirrors. "I've got buck teeth and a huge face- I'm a rodent Simon and at the end of the day I'm always going to be one!"
"What are you talking about- every guy at this school wants to go out with you, " Simon said stunned.
"You don't get it- I've tried everything and Alvin still hasn't paid any attention to me!" Brittany lashed out, she then ran out into the hall.
This was a problem... Not only was this a little overwhelming for Simon because he wasn't the best at consoling people, and on top of all of that she was crying over his brother! He didn't know whether or not he should say anything.
"Brittany- Brittany wait!" Simon called out as he ran after her. He found Brittany sobbing into her hands by the hallway window. "Oh- don't cry, " Simon said as he cringed his face. It was weird for him to see Brittany cry, she was usually sassy and bubbly. "It's okay... Don't cry, " he said as he tapped her back lightly. "Please stop crying-"
"Simon!" Brittany cried aloud as she turned to face him "can I have a hug?" She asked with a shaky voice. Simon didn't want to- not because he didn't like Brit but because he wasn't much of a hugger.
"I'm ya sure, " Simon said as he awkwardly opened up his arms. Brittany dove right into his chest completely heartbroken, his eyes widened at the impact of her embrace.
"It's okay, " Simon said as he stroked her soft hair. This was the closest that Simon had ever been near Brittany he examined her golden hair that sat on the top of her head. He also noticed their high difference, she wasn't tall like Jeanette. Simon liked that his chin could rest on the top of her head. "Y'know Brit, you don't need Jamie... you're an amazing singer with a lot of talent, " he whispered to her ear. "And you're really pretty Brittany... You're beautiful Brittany, " Simon meant it every word but- HE DIDN'T MEAN TO SAY IT!
'Did I just?!'
He then noticed something. Brittany had stopped crying, she didn't break away from Simon's hold.
'Keep going!' Simon thought to himself.
"Alvin is dumb Brit... If he can't see how amazing you are, " Simon said nervously. "But...I see it."
'What the heck am I doing?!' Simon thought to himself. 'I mean I never thought that I'd bad-mouthed my brother to get his girl- what kind of person would do that?! Oh, this is so wrong!'
Brittany looked up to meet Simon's confused gaze. "Simon?" Brittany said looking up at him equally confused.
"You're really pretty, Simon admitted- just then Brittany planted a quick kiss on Simon's cheek. Simon's eyes widen in shock.
Brittany pulled away from Simon's arms and cover her mouth. " I'm so sorry, I didn't know what came over me-"
"No no, it's alright!" Simon reassured.
"Are you sure?" Brittany said looking back at him.
"Yes- You did what I didn't have the guts to do!" Simon said rubbing the back of his neck.
"Thank you- for everything, " Brittany blushed, "um... I'll see you around Simon," Brittany said with a sweet smile. "Maybe we can hang out after school, " she suggested.
"Ya, " Simon said with a crooked smile, "I'd like that- well I'd better get back to class, see ya."
"Bye, " Brittany said as she looked at Simon one last time before she left. She then smiled and walked to her class.
Simon stood there feeling quite good about himself but what he didn't know was that Alvin was behind the lockers, eavesdropping on their conversation with a heavy broken heart.
