Oh to catch a glimpse of your eyes,
Their brown iris drove me to ponder.
His tan skin is delicate with no price,
The voice that was stronger than thunder.
I used to watch you breathlessly,
As your shadow casts my blue face.
The sleight of your hand that sparks like a fairy,
You brought me to your lavender haze.
Imagining myself with you,
On the river of happiness.
We're sitting down on the water with lilies on cue,
And speaking the words above your fortress.
His name would be remembered forever,
I carved his initials on the birch tree.
With bows and hearts that bring us closer,
The gust of the wind made us feel free.
Still, the yearning stays,
I want him to feel better.
Beneath the sun as I pray,
That I love him like my handwritten letters.
You entered my life,
I vowed to be your companion.
Through the days and years of life,
I will always be your carnation.
