Where was he?
She had been waiting for nearly an hour for him to appear.
He was lost, that she had to believe. The alternative was too painful to think about-
That she had dreamed him up, that he wasn't real.
Kicking a rock around the road she wandered aimlessly. Looking around she noted the changes that had happened during the day that had now been copied into her dream world.
There was a new display in the fashion boutique and a new hanging basket had been hung outside the flower shop.
Someone had left their wheel chair outside the community hall.
Pippa wheeled it over into the middle of the road so she could sit comfortably while looking out for Bellamy. She would wait the whole time if she had to. If there was even a small chance that he would come back, she wanted to be here when he did.
The shuffling of feet hitting the pavement made her sit up in the chair. Was it him? She couldn't see anyone yet. Perhaps it was someone new... or just her imagination playing tricks on her.
"Hey!" A voice shouted from the bottom of the road.
Pippa swivelled around, jumping up as she spotted him, the wheel chair flying backwards into the side of a car. Bellamy was here, he was back.
Ignoring the crunch of metal on metal she ran to him. Seeing her big smile and bright eyes he met her half way, embracing her in his arms and swinging her around, laughing.
"I thought you weren't coming! I thought I wasn't going to see you again." She said in a jumble of words as she hugged him close.
"I'm sorry, I got lost!" He squeezed her tighter to him as she burst out laughing. "I'm not used to navigating streets without something telling me where to go." He laughed, trying to defend himself.
"Did you wake up in the park again?" Pippa asked. Realising that she was still wrapped around him she quickly backed away, smoothing down the dress she was wearing, looking down to try and hide the blush she knew would be sneaking into her cheeks.
"Um, yeah." Bellamy replied, stepping back as well.
"Right. I will come to you next time then." Pippa replied, smiling as they met each others eyes. It only took a moment for her to realise that he was dressed as he was the first time she saw him. Bare foot with only white cotton pyjama trousers.
"And I will be sure to bring you some clothes as well." She said, looking away embarrassed knowing she had been staring.
Bellamy chuckled "Both of those things would be very helpful, thank you."
"Right. Shall we?" She pointed towards the clothing store.
"Let's go." He fell into step beside her as they walked the short distance to the clothing store.
An awkward silence fell over them. Should she say something? What didn't sound weird?
Chewing her lip nervously she directed him to the back of the shop.
"You know, I just wanted to tell you- I'm glad that I'm back here. I'm glad I get to see you again." Bellamy smiled nervously.
Breathing in a sigh of relief Pippa smiled back. "Me too!"
He had took the words out of her mouth. Quickly he went round the room grabbing the same clothes he had worn the day before and slipped behind the curtain to get changed.
