Castiel's P.O.V.

Beep, Beep, Beep

Castiel let out a groan as the beeping from his alarm clock continued, and he stretched out his arm to press the OFF button like he does every morning.

But what he hit was definitely NOT a button.

"Dammit Cas,"

Castiel sat up and opened his eyes to find Dean sitting next to him, rubbing the eye that Castiel must have jabbed in attempt to stop the beeping. But once Castiel started to remember everything, the realization hit him like a truck.

He wasn't in his room, he was in a hospital.

Castiel let out a sob as he looked down at his arms, which were now wrapped and bandaged. He hid his face in his hands and cried. He couldn't hold it in. Something about being alive was so much more painful than being dead. Having to live with the constant reminder of who you are and what you do to yourself is so much worse than dying.

He felt the soft touch of a hand on his back, and Castiel shook it off. He knew he shouldn't have. He knew he should have let him comfort him. It was all he wanted. But his mind wouldn't let him.

"Cas I'm sorry-" Castiel cut him off.

"You're sorry Dean? You're sorry?" Castiel's cheeks were stained with tears and as he looked up at the young Winchester.

"Please, Cas, just give me a second chance," Dean was begging. Castiel looked away, fearing that he might make another mistake.

"Why should I?" Castiel wanted to give him another chance. He knows Dean. Probably better than any of the dick heads he's friends with. He knows that there's more to him than parties and chicks and a good ass- I mean.. face? He knows that there's something better. He just can't get himself to believe it.

"Because I want to be with you Cas. And I know that you do too. You just don't want to believe it," In the corner of his eye, he could see Dean looked at the floor before letting out an almost whispered, "Please," and that's all Castiel needed. He looked at Dean and they sat in silence for a for a few moments before Castiel felt the touch of Dean's soft lips against his own. Dean placed his hand on the back of Castiel's neck before pulling away as Castiel's eyes fluttered open and stared into Dean's beautiful green eyes.

A nurse walked in, keeping her eyes on the clipboard that held all of Castiel's information, but was still completely aware of the moment happening in the hospital room. "Castiel?"

He looked away from Dean so he would no longer be distracted, and let out a soft, "Yes?"

"You will be able to go home tomorrow, although you will need a guardian to take care of you while you are out, only to make sure that the cuts heal properly and that you take care of yourself." the nurse looked up at Castiel before getting a pencil out. "You may choose whoever you like, as long as they are over the age of 16."

He looked up at Dean then looked back down at the hand that was intertwined with his own. "D-Dean?"

"Yeah, Cas?"

"W-Would you wanna be my guardian?" He looked up at the young Winchester staring down at him.

"Y-Yeah, of course." Dean smiled as Castiel watched him walk over to the nurse and give her his contact and living information.

"Thanks boys," The nurse said as she started to head out, but stopped before she reached the door. "Oh, and one more thing." the nurse walked to Castiel and leaned down to whisper something in his ear.

"He's a keeper."

Castiel smiled and waved goodbye to the kind nurse as she left the room, leaving the him and Dean to speak among themselves.

Dean's P.O.V.

He looked down at the smiling boy in the hospital bed and sat down next to him. Castiel scoot over to make room for Dean, and Dean laid down next to him, holding his hand in his own.

"Are any of my brothers here?" Dean heard Castiel ask, so much innocence in his voice it almost clogged up the room.

"No, I'm sorry," Dean said as he squeezed Castiel's hand a little harder. They both let out a sigh before Sam walked in with a water bottle and a bag of chips. "Hey kiddo," Dean ruffled his younger brother's hair before stealing the water and handing it to Cas. He accidentally looked at him while he drank and felt his cheeks get hot, but he decided push it aside.

Sam chuckled as he bit into a chip, spilling crumbs unknowingly. "So what, are you two 'a thing' now?"

Dean turned his head to look at Cas and smiled, taking in everything about him. His "sex hair" his beautiful blue eyes, his slightly chapped lips, his scruff; he was perfect, he just didn't realize it.

"Yeah, I guess we are."
