Jackie's P.O.V.

It's been days since the rogue attack and killing my mother's murderer. I haven't been able to sleep well at night, thinking about seeing James. I'm still going to school, waiting for James to return. He hasn't left his pack since the attack and it's been five days; nobody's left his pack. Every day I've been hiding in the woods outside his pack and watching him. I haven't gotten the courage to walk in and see him.

Currently, I'm sitting in fourth hour, not being able to focus on what the teacher was teaching us. My mind continued to wonder about the next time I was going to see my mate. I know for a fact that he's going to have questions as to why or how I knew about werewolves and why I knew how to fight.

I couldn't decide if I wanted to see him or not. I did want to see him because it would chill all of my nerves but I also didn't want to have to answer a lot of questions. I haven't told anyone about it and I wasn't planning to for the rest of my life. Now, I wanted to tell someone. I wanted to tell him, my mate.

The bell ringing broke me out of my thoughts, causing me to jolt. I slugged my way through the halls and to the cafeteria, smelling the scent I'd been wanting to smell for so many long days.

I quickened my pace and walked through the doors, instantly spotting my mate. He was sitting at a table with what I assume are his beta and gamma. My eyes instantly locked with James' and I stopped dead in my tracks. He quickly stood up, walked over to me, and grabbed my arm, taking me out of the cafeteria.

"Uh, what are you doing?" I question innocently, enjoying the skin contact between us.

"Don't play innocent. You know what I'm doing." A smile graced my features as I remembered what happened the last time we were in the storage room. He pulled me into the storage room and pinned me against the wall just like last time. "I've been wanting to do this since I saw you on that field," He said, slamming his lips against mine roughly. We kissed for a while, not caring about any of the questions we wanted to ask, just wanting to be close to each other.

After we pulled away I wanted to smash my lips right back onto his. I looked into his eyes, seeing his wolf close to the surface. Damn, I want to see his wolf again, I thought to myself.

"Okay, so now that that's out of the way, let's get down to why I pulled you in here," He said, out of breath.

"So you didn't pull me in here to kiss me?" I ask, feigning disappointment and pouting my lips.

"That was only one of the reasons," He mumbled, his eyes moving to my lips, then back to my eyes. "But, the real reason I pulled you in here is because I want answers."

"I figured so, but can we not do it here? Someone might hear," I said, letting out an exasperated sigh, putting space between our bodies.

"Um, yeah but we'll have to miss the rest of school," he said looking around. I nodded my head, allowing him to take my hand and lead me out of the school and to his car. "Did you drive here?" He asked, looking around the parking lot.

"No, I walked today," I said, causing him to look at me in shock.

"There aren't many houses around here, how'd you walk?" He asked, astonished.

"I don't live very far," I stated vaguely. He gave me a look that told me he didn't believe me but he continued on, not pushing it.  When we got in his car, we started driving away from the school.

"So, where are we going?" I asked.

"It's a surprise," He said ominously, sending me a cheeky smile.

"I don't like surprises," I say seriously.

"Well that's too bad," He said, letting out a soft chuckle.

I let out a sigh before saying, "If you're going to kill me tell me now. I would like to be prepared."

Saying that received a startled laugh from him before he said, "There's a better chance of you killing me if your fighting on the field says anything about your skills."

A snort left my lips before I could stop it causing him to glare at me. "You're most likely better at fighting than me."

"I highly doubt that," He said with a playful tone.

"We'll have to test that theory soon then," I said, looking at him with mock seriousness.

"Yes, we will."
