Elsa
" The Moon and its Legends? " I read the title of the book out loud, " Why did we have to keep it a secret? Who would want it? It sounds boring, " I said to myself.
I put the book and the photo album under my arm and placed the key in my pocket. I crawled back into the tunnel closing the vent covering behind me.
I was about to start struggling up the path I fell down when I noticed another tunnel leading to my left. I decided to explore it, eventually the tunnel slowly got taller, enough that I could stand up. I walked the rest of the tunnel and at the end I started to climb up the metal ladder attached to the wall.
It was difficult trying to keep the books from slipping out of my grip, while making sure I didn't fall down either. But after what seemed like forever, I reached the top of the stairs and sighed with relief. I continued forward and got to a dead end, it kinda worried me at first because I thought I was going to have to climb back down the ladder.
But after an examination of the wall of rock in front of me, I realized that the roof of the tunnel was metal. I pushed up with all my strength and the roof opened making a horrible creaking noise. I climbed up and noticed that I was in the first tunnel right when it started to slant downwards.
I carefully crawled up and shut the trap door behind me, I made my way out of the tunnel and back into my closet where I shut the tunnel opening.
I went to my bed and sat down, bringing the book onto my lap and opening the cover.
Jack
"WOOOHOOO!" I yelled as loud as I could, not caring if anyone heard me, oh wait, no one can.
My plan had actually worked! Anna actually told Elsa! Now I just have to wait and see what Elsa does about it.
I was strolling through the street market, with my head held high, I had never come this close to changing my life. I walked around the vendors and picked up some oranges, don't worry I took them when they weren't looking, I didn't want them to see oranges disappear in front of their eyes, not saying I've never done that.
This day couldn't get any better! Actually that was a lie, if people could see me that would make this day like 6 times better.
Anna
I sat on my bed leaning against the backboard with the sheets drawn up to my eyes. I cautiously looked around my room, I was completely and utterly petrified. For the last couple hours I have been hearing creaks and squeaks from underneath the floor.
Normally my floor doesn't creak unless I'm walking on it, but I haven't moved and the creaks have gotten really loud.
I searched my room and checked under my bed, just to be sure, but then they stopped, for now, but I'm sure they'll be back.
Elsa
I skipped most of the chapters and went right to the one about the Winter Spirit, I hadn't realized I was reading out loud, " The Winter Spirit known as Jack Frost... " began the chapter. It went on and on describing how Jack Frost came to be and what his responsibilities are... which are pretty much nothing.
It was very interesting reading about these old myths, I got to the last page of the chapter and the last sentence was italicized making it look really important, Seeing is Believing.
I wonder what that means? I sat on the bed confused, when all the sudden the window blew open and snowflakes swirled into the room. I put my hand in front of my face to block the cold wind. Not that it bothered me, it was just kinda instinctive.
I remembered the last time this happened and thought of Jack Frost, what if he's here? No Elsa, don't be ridiculous! He's just a myth, it's not true.....
But what if it was true, what if that's why the book needed to be hidden? Maybe other legends were looking for it! To explain why they were chosen to be myths.... But then why wouldn't my dad want to help them?
The questions swirled around my brain, giving me a headache. I pushed them away, I was being childish, these myths can't be true, no one has special powers.... Wait a second, I have powers! Maybe it is possible!
All the sudden an idea popped into my head, Seeing is Believing.
" I believe in Jack Frost! " I shouted out to no one, but more snowflakes spiraled around the room.
" I believe in Jack Frost! " I exclaimed again, but nothing happened.
I closed my eyes, took a deep breath, nothing would happen unless I believed it would happen, I had to convince no one but myself, so I got to make myself believe!
I believe that Jack Frost is real, he's not a myth he's right here with me, I told myself in my mind.
I repeated it and the more I thought it the more I believed it. I could feel a breeze blowing around me, my hair swirling with it, I kept my eyes closed tight.
I took another deep breath, the wind coming to a stop, and I slowly opened my eyes.
