Elsa
My eyes fluttered open, I groaned and tried to stand up from the chair. I took one step and fell straight on the floor. I didn't attempt to move again, I just tried to think..... what happened?
I thought back to when Dr. Black asked me to close my eyes, but after that I can't remember anything.
I had to get up, I had to do something. I slowly made my way across the floor and to the door, I tried to open it, but it was locked.
I mustered enough strength to pick myself off the floor and stumble to the window. I tried to open the window, but like the door, it was locked.
Then I remembered something, Jack, I looked around the room, but he wasn't there, I looked out the window, but he was no where to be seen.
All the sudden I heard the door knob start to jiggle and in walked Dr. Black.
" Elsa, you're awake, thank goodness, you passed out during your head check-up, I'm afraid your condition is worse then I thought. I believe the best chance for you to get better is for you to be transported to a hospital, " he said.
" No, no, I can't, " I stuttered, trying to think of a good reason to stay, I was starting not to trust him.
He sighed, " Elsa, there is nothing to be afraid of, I have spoke to Anna and she believes this is the best thing for you to get better, " he tried to reassure me, as he took a couple steps closer to me.
Anna appeared at the door with tears in her eyes.
" Come on, it's time to go, " Dr. Black said coming even closer.
" No! I can't go, my coronation, it's tomorrow, I have to stay! " I said, remembering a great reason to stay.
Dr. Black looked at me suspiciously, " Your coronation? " he asked.
" Yes, this city has gone long enough without a queen, and I owe it to them to give them one, " I said.
He looked back at Anna and she nodded, " Okay, you will stay for your coronation, but after it is finished we will go straight to the hospital, " he explained.
" Okay, " I said, giving in for now, at least I have another day to figure out something to do.
Dr. Black exited the room and Anna walked over, " I'm so glad you're not leaving, it would be so empty without you, " she said, trying to remain calm.
" Yes, can you see to it that all the preparations for tomorrow are ready? " I asked, but it wasn't really a question.
Anna nodded and walked out, I followed a little bit after and went back into my own room.
I walked in and noticed something different. I went over to my dresser which had a piece of fabric from my favourite dress hanging out of the drawer.
Someone else might find this normal, but to someone who barely leaves her room, my room was always spotless. I would never have been so messy as to leave my clothing lying around.
Someone must have been in my room, I opened my other drawers and I found more things moved out of place.
Then I remembered something, the book, Dad said it was important, could someone be looking for it?
I turned to my bed, I hadn't had the chance to put it away because of what happened with Jack.
It wasn't there, I rushed over moving all my blankets and pillows around, hoping that the book was somehow under one.
But it was gone.
I sat on my bed, completely defeated, one of the only things I could remember my Father telling me, was to keep the book hidden. I felt like I was disappointing him right now, like I was a failure.
I put my head in my hands and tears threatened to fall.
" Elsa? Are you okay? " I heard someone ask.
I looked up to see Jack, he had a concerned look on his face.
" Yeah, I'm fine, " I lied, blinking my eyes so the tears wouldn't fall.
He walked a couple steps over, " Wow, I believed that for a second, " he said smiling.
I smiled also, " It's nothing, it's actually pretty dumb, " I told him.
" It's not dumb, " he said, walking over and sitting next to me. " Tell me. "
I decided I could trust him, since he couldn't tell anyone. I told him about the library and my Father telling me to keep the book a secret, which felt weird saying because I was telling him. I also told him, how I was reading all about the myths when he had first appeared to me. I mentioned how someone was searching through my room and now the book was gone.
Once I was finished, Jack spoke, " Wait, do you mean the book you were holding when you saw me? "
" Yeah, and now it's gone, " I answered, feeling like a failure again.
" Well, when you saw me, you started screaming and if I remember correctly I thought you dropped it onto the floor, " he said.
Before I responded I got on my hands and knees on the floor and looked under the bed.
I couldn't believe my eyes when I was a big black rectangle, I pulled it out and saw it was the book. I hugged it to my chest and smiled.
" It must've been blown under your bed when I was blowing the wind around, sorry about that, when I get nervous the wind usually starts up, " he said.
" It's completely okay, I'm just so glad that you found it! " I said, almost unable to control myself, I dropped the book and gave him a huge hug.
I let go and saw frost growing on the bedpost behind him.
I gasped and stumbled away. Jack saw where I was looking and looked behind him, he saw the frost.
" Elsa, it's okay, " he said.
I felt completely terrified, I didn't want to hurt anyone, " No, it's not okay, my powers are controlling me, " I said.
" That's because you let them, " Jack said simply.
I frowned and he explained, " Every time you try to stuff your powers down inside of you it makes it harder for you to control them. "
" But why? " I asked.
" Think about it, your powers react with your emotions, " he answered.
I thought about it and it seemed to make sense.
" When was the last time you used your powers without worrying about them? " Jack asked.
" Never, " I said, " Wait, when I had the snowball fight with you, I was happy, " I said, it seemed to all make sense now.
" Exactly, " he said.
" But if I'm always scared and frightened about using them, then I lose control, " I said.
Jack nodded, " You have to use your powers without being scared, " he said.
" Okay, " I smiled at him, I slowly put my hands behind my back and formed a snowball.
" So then what are you gonna do? " he asked.
" Well, I don't know, maybe...... this! " I exclaimed as I threw the snowball directly at him.
His face read complete shock as my snowball it him in the shoulder and and burst into snowflakes.
" Oh you'll pay for that, " he said jokingly as he formed his own snowball and threw it at me, I easily ducked and it hit the wall behind.
" Not so easy to hit people when they can see you is it? " I said, laughing.
He laughed, " Well, I've never had practise before, " he said, as he threw another hitting me at the side of my stomach.
" You're gonna get it! " I said smiling, just as I was about to throw my knees gave out from underneath of me. My head started to spin as I hit the floor and everything went black.
