Author's note: I wrote this a while back. Hope you enjoy!

Y/n had been Denethor's servant since she was a young girl. She had grown up in his household, watching his sons, Boromir and Faramir, grow up as well.

While she had always admired Boromir's strength and bravery, she had grown to love Faramir's gentle spirit and kind heart. However, Denethor was a harsh man, and he treated Faramir with disdain. He saw him as weak and unworthy of his father's love, always favoring Boromir over him.

Y/n couldn't stand to see Faramir suffer under his father's judgment, but she was only a servant, and there was little she could do about it. That all changed the day news arrived that Boromir had been killed in battle. Y/n had never seen Faramir so grief-stricken. He locked himself in his room and refused to see anyone

. Y/n knew she had to do something to comfort him. She snuck into his room late that night, finding him huddled in a corner, tears streaking down his face. Without a word, she sat down next to him and put a comforting arm around him.

He didn't protest, allowing her to hold him as he cried. As the night wore on, Y/n talked to Faramir, telling him stories of Boromir's bravery and reassuring him that his brother would always be with him in spirit. Slowly but surely, Faramir's tears stopped, and he began to find comfort in Y/n's words.

For the first time in a long time, Y/n felt like she had made a real difference in Faramir's life. As she left his room that night, she knew that she would always be there for him, no matter what his father thought or said. She would be his friend, his confidant, and his ally in the face of any adversity.
