PRERISH: Never Ending Love

Chapter One: Inner Turmoil

*Take note that the following chapters from now on may contain flashback scenes here and there. Just for you guys not to be confused, all flashback scenes will be written in italics and normal scenes will be written in the standard font. Thank you :)

This story begins after Komolika falls from the terrace at Basu's mansion after trying to harm Prerna.

Prerna was seated on her bed, back at Sharma Nivas. Today was meant to be a happy day for her and Anurag. After all, they reunited after several hurdles created by Komolika. Now that she is out of the way, Prerna is supposed to be relieved and happy. But, instead, she is feeling low... Feeling as if there was something that she wasn't aware of.

Her mind went back to what transpired earlier back at the terrace, before Komolika tragically fell down from the terrace, leading to her death.

*A few hours earlier*

Prerna was waiting at the terrace for Anurag to come up. She was delighted that Komolika was out of their lives.

"Why is Anurag taking so long to come?"  she muttered impatiently. Why wouldn't she?! All she ever wanted to be with him for so long. But, Komolika the devil from hell had to enter their lives to turn it upside down.

Prerna's eyes went up to the moon that was shining so brightly. It always does, but today she just felt it was brighter. Perhaps, it was because she was going to begin a brand new journey with the love of her life. She smiled shyly as she closed her eyes, enjoying the slow breeze that was flowing around her.

"Look like you are so happy, Prerna Sharma!" A voice said bitterly which brought Prerna out of her dreamy moment. She turned to come face to face with Komolika.

"You! What are you doing here?!" Prerna said shockingly as she took a few steps back. 

"I thought, you would be rotting in jail by now for all the sins you have done!" she said anger evident in her voice.

"I am Komolika, Prerna. It is not easy to throw me out of your lives, especially without my consent!" she said with a smirk.

"And what were you thinking? That Anurag will come and hold you tightly in your arms, right?" she said. Prerna was just glaring at her. She was taken aback suddenly when Komolika walked towards her at a fast speed and grabbed her neck tightly.

"The people who are nightmares for others, never get their beautiful dreams fulfilled, Prerna Sharma! You are my biggest nightmare! What makes you think you are going to lead a happy life now?" Komolika said still strangling Prerna, making it hard for her to breathe. Prerna used all fo her strength to push Komolika out of her way, which she did and took a few steps away from her. She got hold of the terrace bar to gain a little bit of stability and looked at Komolika who got up from the ground.

"What the hell is wrong with you?! Why are you going after someone who doesn't want to be with you?" Prerna said and Komolika was just glaring at her breathing heavily.

"You are such a cheap woman, Komolika. First, you wanted Anurag despite knowing he was your own sister's boyfriend. After they both decided to break up and Anurag decided to be with me instead, you came in between us. You killed my father, you tried to harm Moloy Uncle, and you threatened Anurag to marry him! How many sins will you keep doing? Will you not ever learn?!" Prerna screamed in anger and without realising tears were trickling down her face when she spoke of her father. 

Komolika was staring at Prerna who was sobbing in front of her. Her smirk widened when she realised that Prerna was still kept in the dark about the life she was still living.

"Poor you, Prerna! You are so dumb," she said laughing a little. Prerna was looking at her with anger as she wiped her tears.

"You are blinded in love, Prerna Sharma. Whoever is blinded in love so badly, will never know what is actually going around her. I know that very well because I was in your shoes once and see what it made me now!" Komolika said. She walked towards Prerna and stood in front of her.

"You believe in your love so much, right?! What if I tell you that Anurag is actually not the person  you are thinking he is?!" Komolika said and that caught Prerna's attention. She looked at Komolika questionably.

"What if I tell you that... AH!!!!!" Komolika said but screamed when she felt someone push her away from Prerna. She stumbled and leaned back to the railing of the terrace end and fell over.

"KOMOLIKA!!!!" Prerna and Anurag screamed but it was too late. Komolika fell off the terrace and into a deep lake behind the Basu mansion and went missing without a trace...

Prerna was just feeling restless remembering Komolik's words. She was about to tell her something before Anurag came and accidentally pushed her. But what did she want to tell?! What did she mean by Anurag is not the person I think he is...?

'I guess I will never know,' she thought and closed her eyes. She was overwhelmed with everything that went on earlier that day. She came out of her thoughts, hearing her phone ring.

"Yes, Anurag. Tell me?" she asked.

"Are you okay, Prerna?" Anurag asked and she could hear the concern in his voice that made her smile a little.

"I am supposed to be asking you this question... After all, you have to deal with so much of stuff," she said.

"Don't worry, everything is settled. The case is closed," Anurag said and Prerna frowned.

"Closed? What do you mean? They found her body already?" Prerna asked. How can it end so fast?

"No! But there is nothing on us. Moreover, Komolika is not an innocent person. She has a lot of dirt on her as well," Anurag said. She was still feeling very uneasy about it but decided not to think too much about it.

"Okay! I am feeling very tired. You should also go and rest, I will talk to you soon," Prerna said and both of them ended the call.

"Why I am feeling very uneasy? Why do I feel that this is not the end of our problems? And how can they not find the body in the lake?" she muttered as she started to feel a little breathless. She quickly walked to her side table and poured herself a glass of water. 

"Hey, Devi Ma! Please guide me. I don't know but I am feeling very burdened. I feel that something big and bad is going to happen... Please, don't let anything bad happen to my loved ones," Prerna prayed to Goddess Durga whom she believed had always guided her well in the path of love. 

Thinking of that, her mind once again went to the time she went to the temple to pray to reunite with Anurag. Whenever she and Anurag were together, Durga Ma always blessed them with her red chunri falling over them. But, after the demise of her father, things were going a little different. Any prayers that she prayed together with Anurag or for Anurag just didn't end well. The oil lamp that she lit for him just goes off.

She didn't know why she was thrown with so many challenges to fight for her love and happiness. She didn't know what has she ever done to go through so much of hurdles. But all she hoped, was everything to go well and lead a happy life with Anurag like how her father wanted.
