___________

Just like the last time she had been in the games, she locked herself in her room as soon as the interviews were over. She then locked herself in her personal bathroom, putting just another boundary between her and everyone else. She kicked her entire outfit into the corner of the room, took everything out of her hair and dropped it on the counter. Then she turned the hot water on and climbed in, letting herself enjoy the hot shower-- her last hot shower.

Quinn quickly shook out those thoughts. She knew she couldn't avoid it, but she knew she could at least avoid thinking about it for the time being. She decided that she hadn't taken advantage of anything while she had been there-- every time she had been in the Capitol she hadn't. But now, she accepted what she always thought. The Capitol pampered tributes because they knew that they were going to die.

Quinn washed her hair, twice. Simply because the odds of her ever getting the chance to do it again were next to none. Even after she was done, she stood under the water, looking at the various soaps that the bathroom had been stocked with. All of them had some sort of rose in it. She didn't use the one that was purely rose scented. She used one that only had it as an accent, and still wasn't that noticeable. After awhile longer, Quinn turned the water off, and then stepped out of the shower. Once she had dried off completely, she wrapped the towel around herself and then went to find comfortable clothes.

She pulled out a short sleeved shirt, and a pair of comfortable pants. Once I pulled them on, I used the towel to keep drying my hair. She let her mind wander a bit, she started thinking about the arena-- what would it be like? Would it be hot or cold? Dry or a swamp? She hoped it had something to do with water, District Four was a career district. Then again, she wasn't from a career district this year. But the Favourites had to count as careers, didn't they? They were practically promised sponsors because they were favourites...the actual careers didn't want to get rid of them-- at least not yet. Right?

Quinn was snapped out of her thoughts by the sound of a knock on her door. She dropped the towel on her bed and got up to go unlock the door. Once she got to it, she hesitated-- she didn't want to talk to anyone. But she pulled the door open anyway, only to reveal Ciruss. She looked him over, he seemed nervous and uneasy as he waited to be invited in. Quinn let out an uneasy sigh and stepped aside to let him in.

As soon as he stepped in, he pushed the door shut.

"We need to talk," he sighed, "About alliances."

Quinn groaned as she snatched up her towel. "What about it? It's going to be me and Orion--"

"You need to be with Twelve," he said, cutting into her sentence. "I know it's not my place to tell you who you need to be in a alliance with," he added quickly.

"Then why are you telling me?" Quinn retorted, her voice slipped out a bit more bitter than she had originally hoped. "I don't want to be in a alliance with anyone, if it was up to me I'd just be with Finnick and Mags." she stated, "And Orion." she added quickly.

Ciruss sighed and nodded, "Orion's allied with Seven-- he chose Johanna and Blight."

Quinn stared at him. Ciruss made it sound like Orion didn't want to even be allies with Quinn. "What?"

"The Rebels in the Capitol are working with Thirteen, Orion helped them all get in contact during last years games." he began to explain, "They have a plan to get the Victors out of the arena-- mainly Twelve."

Quinn frowned, she should have seen it coming. She had told Coin that Katniss was the one that Thirteen needed, Coin wasn't going to let them lose her right after they found their leader.

"Twelve needs as many allies that are working with the rebels as possible." he continued, "More than half of the tributes are in on it."

"So if there's so many, why do I have to be her ally?"

She didn't mean it. She already knew why, and in a way, she knew she had to help Katniss. She had spent the last year hoping, and praying that Katniss would live-- that she really would be the one the rebellion needed. How could she just let all of that go to waste?

"She asked for you as an ally, along with Mags and District Three." Ciruss said simply.

Quinn seated herself on the edge of her bed, pulling the towel back into her lap and fumbling with it in her fingers. "So you're basically asking me to, given the right situation, to die for her just so the rebels can try to break her out?"

Ciruss sat down next to her, "Quinn, I want you to stick with her. Because if they can get her out, they'll be able to get you out too."

"And if it ends up being between me and her?" Quinn asked, looking up at him. "Then what?"

Ciruss sighed, and Quinn could have sworn that she saw tears beginning to build up in his eyes. He had been a mentor to her during her last games, even if it wasn't his title. And he had been a mentor now...in a way, Quinn could say he had been almost like a father. Giving her the best advice he could. He had been a friend too, so this-- telling her that she was either going to die at the bloodbath, die for Katniss, or somehow, magically survive-- it couldn't have been easy for him to do.

"Then it's your call," he said finally.

Quinn sighed and nodded, it'll all be over soon. She thought, if she thought she was going to die fast before, she knew she'd die fast for sure now.

"Is that all then? Until morning at least?" she asked.

Ciruss thought for a moment and then finally nodded, "Yeah, that's it for now." he let out a long sigh.
