The rest of the first day went by slowly. Quinn and Agathias stayed near the beach, but far enough into the jungle that they couldn't see the beach and couldn't be seen. Quinn stayed a good distance in front of Agathias, she hadn't expected to be so angry. She had been expecting to be so disgusted at the thought of being stuck with Agathias-- the Victor who killed Quinten in the sixty-fourth games. But she was even more disgusted with herself. She hadn't been able to make herself kill him because she knew he was right and honest. He had killed him because he wanted to go home.

Even if you made promises not to kill someone in the arena, when it came down to it...you always did. You always put your own life before anyone else's-- so the plan to save Katniss went against everything that the Games had pounded into their heads.

Agathias tried to spark up a bit of conversation, but Quinn didn't engage in it. Instead, she kept her eyes looking in front of her, and scanning her surroundings for any other Victors. They didn't have any run in's with anyone, she had been hoping to run into Orion-- more so than Finnick and the others. They could handle themselves. Orion wasn't a Victor, he had only three days of training...well, for the games. He had tons of training in Thirteen.

"Quinn," Agathias stated, his voice wasn't as friendly. He didn't sound like he was trying to make conversation like before. "It's getting dark, we need to set up camp."

"I don't need to do anything because you tell me to." Quinn said, not bothering to stop to look at him. "We still have some daylight."

"We need to set up camp, now." Agathias stated, his voice even more stern now. "As soon as night comes, we don't know what'll happen, we need to get used to what's around us."

Quinn stopped, stabbing her spear into the ground. She took a deep breath and then finally turned to face Agathias. The thought of sitting was a bit appealing, it was so humid-- maybe sitting would be a good way to just cool down. But she had more important allies to find, and sitting there wasn't going to help her find them any sooner.

"We leave as soon as the sun comes up." Quinn stated, "And I take first watch."

The two of them found a spot between two trees, one for each of them to lean against. Agathias didn't complain about being the first one to be able to sleep either, it all reminded her of her alliance with Fiona. Leaving Fiona had worked out okay for her, she was almost positive she could last a while on her own while she looked for the others. Besides that, she wasn't exactly fond of the idea of being in the arena with the person who had killed Quinten. Someone who was using the same kind of weapon that killed her brother.

"We'll have to at least get along," he stated after a long while of silence that included Quinn simply sitting, feeling every individual bead of sweat drop down her neck, face, and her suit sticking to her whole body.

Quinn sighed, and shrugged. "Technically we don't. One of us could just kill the other in their sleep." she replied casually.

He scoffed, "If you were going to kill me, you would have already." Agathias leaned against the tree. His sword was stabbed into the ground beside him, and he sat comfortably and almost looked relaxed. "I'm not worried about it."

"You don't think I could kill the person that killed my brother?" she retorted, raising an eyebrow sharply.

He didn't look convinced by her smug tone. "I don't think you could make yourself do anything just for the Capitol to watch." he replied.

Quinn didn't say anything at first. Her hand clutched around the moss growing on the ground she was sitting on and pulled it up. That was a fair point, the whole point of everything she had done was to stop the games, she didn't want to do anything to help the games.
