A/N: from this chapter continued, i will be writing about the new life!!!
---------------------------------------------------------
After his deathFourth's pov:
The last thing I remember was that man's stale breath inches away from me, a sharp pain at my throat, a warm gush of maroon metallic liquid staining the wooden boards I was standing on.
Then it was just darkness, miles and miles of darkness all around me.
I understood, I must be dead.
The ground was water, reflecting the darkness of nothing.
So I walked, walked for miles, with no concept of time.
Then I saw a small temple. Glazed with colour, so much colour in contrast to the dark waters, colours so bright they hurt my eyes.
Then I could smell, smell the incense mixed with all the smoky spices and metals, cedar and pine of the woods the temple was fashioned out of.
So I decided to pray. Kneeling down on the cushion lying in the waters, but seemingly untouched by them.
Nothing was burning, but I felt warm. The incense I held in my hand glowing a pale light. There was no fire, but it was burning. My heart was burning like the unlit incense.
I prayed for myself, I prayed for my family, I prayed for my love.
I prayed that I would be fine, I prayed that they would be fine, I prayed that he would be fine.
Then I heard this little voice in the back of my head, this little voice that was begging to be selfish, begging to be delusional.
So then I prayed that I could go back, I prayed that I could be reborn, I prayed that I could meet him again.

Present?Gem's pov:
The last thing I remember was soaring through the air like a wingless bird, feeling free, finally feeling alive.
I don't know if I didn't fasten my seatbelt on purpose, I don't know if I was really begging for death.
It was this little voice in the back of my head that was begging me to be selfish, begging me to be delusional.
Maybe I thought that if I died I could be reunited with him again.
Then it was darkness, miles and miles of complete darkness
I understood I completed my plan, I was dead.
The ground was water, reflecting the darkness of nothing.
So I walked, walked for miles, with no concept of time.
Then I saw a small temple. Glazed with colour, colours that reminded me of him.
Then I could smell, smell the incense I used to burn every weekend for him. The incense mixed with floral scents of the decaying flowers.
So I decided to pray, pray for myself, pray for my family, pray for my love.
Kneeling down on the mat, I closed my eyes, summoning the remaining willpower of my soul, I begged for forgiveness from all my loved ones.
Then blinding lights forced my eyes to open, a figure making their way to me through the afterlife.
I asked them who they were, they held out their hand.
So I made a deal with them, they asked me how I want to be reborn.
I wanted my memories to be intact, they said I could, with the same face, the same soul, but I would not remember the face of my love, and I would not be able to tell him apart from others.
-------------------------------------------------------
Present:Fourth's pov:
Nothing happened, I could not leave the afterlife.
Being stuck in the realm between heaven and hell was not as fun as I thought it would be before I died.
The border place between heaven and hell where dwell those souls who, though not condemned to punishment, are deprived of the joy of eternal existence with God in heaven.
It was dark all the time, never a glimpse of light. There was no ground to place my feet, just a never ending sheet of water, my only form of entertainment.
I tried walking, walking for days and months on end, or so I thought. I always ended up at that temple, nothing changes, nothing happens.
I found myself with no will to eat, no will to drink, no will to sleep, no will to even breathe when I tried.
I understand why I am here, I am unwilling to move on.
But there are no other souls around, I cannot even see my own reflection in the water.
But when I stumbled across the temple again once, when I was about to go mad. It must have been three years since the day I died, but there is no concept of time in this realm, I do not know where in the timeline I fell into.
The temple was normal, as always, incense burning with no fire, but a ornate framed picture was placed on the mantlepeice, a picture of my love.
I prayed every day, I prayed for myself, for my family, for my love.
When that picture appeared, I understood, he must be dead.
I learnt then, you cannot shed tears in the afterlife.
-------------------------------------------------------Gem's pov:
Nothing happened at first, I was just standing there, watching the figure slowly dissapearing again, into their halo of light.
When they truly dissapeared, the light also faded away, leaving myself in complete darkness yet again.
My eyes adjusted slowly to the darkness again, scanning my surroundings, but the only source of light was from the temple, the incense still burning away steadily, filling the air with smokey scents.
I do not know what deal I just made. Hell, I don't even know who that was, the spirit I made a deal with. I do not understand what would happen next, or what will be of my soul.
-------------------------------------------------------Fourth's pov:
I was praying again, when suddenly light appeared in the horizon of the afterlife.
A figure walking towards me.
At first, I thought it was my Gem, I thought maybe he had come to pick me up, to return to our life.
I ran towards the figure, it wasn't him.
It was a spirit with no face, a plume of smoke.
They held out their hand, a small note hidden in it fell to the ground as the figure turned away again, and dissapeared into the light.
I picked up thr note quickly, but it was not touched by the water.
'meet me at restaurant in five mins. Fourth nattawat jirochtikul'
Then the note caught on fire, burning away, leaving segments of paper on the palm of my hand.
Then another glow of light appeared, shining upon the temple, beckoning me towards it.
No figure made its way through the light this time, so I think It is my turn to walk through the light, see where it leads me.
