Fourth's pov:
-------------------------------------------------------
Frantic knocking woke me from deep slumber.

I scrambled out of bed, pulling on a hoodie as I grabbed my phone by the bedside table. 3:12 am. Flicking on a small light, I pulled open my door.

My landlady?

“Uhhh...How can I help?” My voice still scratchy from sleep.

“My son, just returned from the States, and he has no place to live.” She explained.

“Uhh...okay? How do I fit in here?” I asked, confused.

“Start packing, I want you out of the house by morning, he has to live here.” She retorted.

“What? You can't just kick me out!” I stammered.

“I can, actually.” She said, waving the lease in my face. “I shouldn't be renting out to underage students who pretend to be of age anyways.”

Oop, she got me there.

“But where should I live??” I spluttered “I have nowhere else to go!”

“That sounds like a you problem” She turned around, walking away, leaving me dumbfounded.

Well, that just happened.

I hurried back into my room, shutting the door behind me and locking it while I turned on the main light.

Flipping on my laptop, I started looking for other places to live. The money my parents gave me that I've saved over the years are more than enough for me to buy a decent sized house.

I better buy a house instead of renting, or else I might be kicked out again.

Inputting the details of my father, I scrolled through a couple avaliable places.

I landed on a small two-floored house with a small garden close enough to where I go to school.

Flipping through the pictures of the house, two master bedrooms, each with a bathroom, and one other main bathroom. A decent sized kitchen with a cozy looking living room.
Hmmmm... I think this should do.

I have no time to waste, clicking the 'purchase' button, I linked my credit card and put in a down payment.

Signing some papers with my own signature, the previous owner reached out.

'Do you want a tour of the house?'

'I'm rather tight on time, I don't think I need a tour, when can I move in?'

'Quickest would be next week, but you can drop by to see it before moving in, I'll send you the pin code for the door.'

'Thank you so much!'

An email was delivered into my inbox.

'LEASE DISCONTINUED'.

I know.

Shutting my laptop, I pulled out a few suitcases and started folding clothes.

Good thing I never got too attached to this place, I never thought I would be here for long anyways.

I never decorated it to make it feel like home.

With not much stuff to pack, I finished within a few hours.

Looking around the empty apartment, a small part of me flickered and died inside.

I don't feel like I have a place I belong in, I don't feel like I'm welcome anywhere.

I quickly reserved a hotel room next to my school for me to stay these days before I move into the house, even though I know I won't be going to school.
