Legends entertain, educate or inspire.

I find no pleasure of entertainment in any of this but there's a lesson in here somewhere. It must be not to mess with a man who tangoes with death and lives.

The inspiration is that all it takes is strong will and I know no man with stronger will than Adryan. This man has survived too much to just call it quits.

I'm proud to be his wife. I can't help but fall in love a little deeper when I look at him. He is still asleep in my arms where he belongs for as long as h cannot help himself.

Full colour has returned to his cheeks. He will recover from the poison. When Clover suggested it, I was worried that she wants him dead so that neither one of us can have him. I'm happy she didn't trick me into killing him. I can't believe I trusted Clover.

"My love." I whispered as his eyes opened with the coming of dawn. They look tired but there is life in them. "Welcome back to life. You are a fighter."

His gaze is weak but he can see me. "I trusted you... I'm alive, right? Is it morning?" He asked in an equally weak voice.

He must eat something. We brought nothing with us. We had to sell our grief and grief doesn't come with banquets. I have been tempted to nurse him. That's the only food I have. But I don't think he will like it.

"A new day with new promise my love. They failed. You win yet again." I kissed the tip of his nose.

"My partner in crime." He chuckled. "This is the second time you have saved me from death. I owe you my life Selina."

I smiled at him. "Let's talk about what we owe each other when you recover. Are you hungry?"

"Starving." He whispered. "What are the chances that you brought the royal chefs?"

I couldn't bite back my laughter. "Someone has returned with a sense of humor."

This cave has given us shelter for the hours that were dark. Keli kept watch and then I kept watch. When light came, I joined Adryan and kept watch from his side. I was almost a popsicle then from being battered by the frigid winds! Keli and Nova are huddled together, keeping each other warm. Nova fell asleep quicker than I expected. All that wailing must have exhausted her.

"Where are we?" He whispered.

"Saine Neane. Steep of Treytan."

"Can we drop by the prison for some hot soup?" He joked.

"You are not going anywhere near a prison. It was hard enough to get your body out."

He frowned at me as I heard his stomach rumble. I wonder when he last ate. "How did they let me go?"

"You were dead. They had no choice."

"I don't understand. How... How am I alive then?"

"The herb I gave you slowed down your heart almost to a stop. It mimicks death but leaves a faint trace of life that if not gripped soon enough slips away."

"I can't believe I allowed you to poison me." He ran his hand over his face.

"Well... we did vow to trust each other." I smiled at him.

"I feel weak."

"That's expected. Your strength will return to you."

"I need something to eat. Wake Keli up. He needs to go hunting."

There's a bit of spoilt royal behavior in him. "Keli did an amazing job with you. He carried you through the thick snow for sn hour. You need to lose weight."
