Selina's POV
Three places I never want to willingly visit; the Chrystal Isles, Saine Neane and the Northern Islands. It's exactly in that order. In all these places, I went through something I never want to relive.

The Northern Islands felt like home until it was burned down and I lost my best friend. It was a place marked with death and I would rather forget that I ever went there.

Saine Neane is the place I want hed them putting my husband into the frozen ground. The rough terrain we endured to get to the camp is enough to make me hate the place. It does not help that it's always cold in Saine Neane. I hate the cold.

The Chrystal Isles does not even need an explanation. From the intolerable chiefs to getting shot while trying to save the girls. I hate that place and I hope it sinks into the sea.

In each of these places, something good did happen. In the Northern Islands, I met Adryan. In the Chrystal Isles, our love bloomed. In Saine Neane, we fortified our love. That's the silver lining. Our love.

It's now being tested yet again because a certain man can't seem to learn his lessons. Adryan came into my father's life like a storm. He was uninvited and full of intention. A man like Adryan doesn't ask for permission. He wasn't raised that way. He was raised as a prince and that placed him higher than my father. When he came into our home, he didn't come to ask for my father's permission. He came to state his place in my life and expected my father to fall in line. That didn't happen as smoothly as Adryan thought. The conflict and harboured resentment have become a recipe for disaster. He never accepted that Adryan isn't going anywhere. He conspired to have my husband killed and here we are now. There's a strain in our love thanks to my father.

It's a silent strain. I feel it and I'm keeping my lips sealed do qsnot to express it. My siblings are in turmoil with his impending death looming like dark skies over a sunny day. A dark moment in Chea Nivan history is about to happen and I have to accept it.

As my thoughts waned, I began to pay attention to the dark mirky surrounding. We have been walking for quite some time. They offered to bring him to me but I declined. I wanted to see it for myself. I wanted to see his final residence before the execution.

Th duke has fallen from grace. It's a small cell, one not so different from the one Adryan was in when they conspired to get him sentenced for murder.

His tired blue eyes raised from the low cast to mine. He stood up at once and grabbed the bars with a ray of home brightening his tired aged face.

"I knew you would come!" He exclaimed with doomed hope in his voice.

"I'm pregnant." I informed him. "It's too early in it's stage to announce it but I am. Your actions would have caused me a miscarriage from the grief of losing my husband or even cause this little one and Kieran to grow up fatherless. Should it turn out to be a boy then he would have been murdered for having a right to the throne. I wouldn't have allowed it so I would have ended up dead too. Did you think about these outcomes when you sat at the table of traitors?"

His smile faded. "Lenaya, my dear, I am sorry about the everything. I had your best interests at heart. He is a vicious cold hearted man. You deserve better. I had the assurance of the council that you and Kieran wouldn't be harmed. I had no idea you were expectant."

"I love Adryan and all his flaws. Haven't you gotten that after all this time? What did you stand to gain?" I questioned with my eyes at the brink of tears. "Would you have been king?"

"Of course not." He answered. "It was payback. He disrespected me in my own home! He stepped all over my authority as your father! He never asked for my permission to marry you! He just took and took wnd took! From your innocence to tainting you with the scandalous conception of a bastard son! That is not how an honourable man carries himself!"
