Selina's POV
The Queen Mother has managed to get me entangled in her daily affairs. While I wish to stay in the palace around my new husband -who has somewhat become an addiction for me- I'm out here in the sun pretending to be happy about being here.Keli is a distance away with our other guard. I miss how we would say mean things about people and laugh. Nowadays he ignores me. He is serious and when we make eye contact, it's harshness that he sends my way. What is he so mad about?
I don't mind being a philanthropist. What I do mind is the uselessness of listening to women gossip. It feels like a punishment. My eyes darted over to Nova. She's perfectly happy.
Tired of maintaining a perfect posture, I suddenly stood up. They all did so too. Sometimes I forget I'm an actual princess now and I'm above all of them. "Ladies, please excuse me." They curtsied for me as I fled as gracefully as I possibly can.
A quick exit from gossip and tea. This is the highlight of my day and when I tell Adryan, he will laugh at me.
I walked briskly to the soothing shade of the music conservatory. This is where all the operas and fancy shows go down. There's one this weekend and I think I must be here. I hate opera music. I'll probably doze off and drool too!
I felt a sudden grip on my wrist and my whole body was turned around. I came face to face with a man I used to knows intimately.
"Lucas."
"My love."
What?
Before I had a second to make sense of this, he drove my back against the wall and crashed his lips on mine. I pushed him away only for him to hold both of my wrists behind my back.
"What are you doing?" I questioned with large eyes.
"You are mine. Remember? He can never make you feel the way I did."
"This man you are talking about is now my husband and he is bat crazy! Do you have a death wish? Let go of me now!"
"I love you Selina. Let me remind you that you love me too." He kissed me aga again, this time not holding back anything. I tried to wiggle my hand free but the kiss suddenly ended when I felt him leave my lips.
I saw him on the ground, hand over his eye with Keli looking down at him with fists balled.
"What the hell are you doing?"
"Keli..." I approached him, hand stretched out. "It's not what it looks like. I can explain this-"
"Explain it to Prince Adryan, your husband."
He called over the other guards. "Apprehend this man. The Prince would love to meet him."Adryan said he loves me madly. He said that if Lucas turns out to be something he shouldn't I'll see how jealous he can get. I don't want to know what will happen if he meets Lucas and he finds out about this.
I pushed the guards away. "Lucas run!"
He took off at once and I kept Keli from following. "Chase after him!" The guards chased after Lucas but Keli stayed. "Before the sun sets today, you tell Adryan what I caught you doing. If you don't, I will. Now Your Highness, get back to gossip and tea or I take you home. Choose one."
Gossip and tea sounds fun. I don't think I want to ever go home.

They say the best sunsets are in Daa Haan. They also say the best sunsets are in Lokefar.
They argue that Cray Thera has beautiful sunsets.
I have been to all three places and I don't care. It's the same sun. There's no competition when it's only one sun.
