To pass the time after his little meeting with Harry and his friends, (F/N) sat in his dorm room and looked at the amulet once again.
"Alright, you've opened before," (F/N) muttered to himself, "now how did you open?" He kept his focus on the eye portion of the amulet, checking to see if anything had changed, before closing his eyes to think. As he did, he had a quick brain blast. Taking a deep breath, he started concentrating on the third eye that opened, feeling the magic around him and wanting to see it with that eye.
After a moment, the third eye opened up, giving (F/N) another view into the magic in the room. He stared at the amulet with this third eye, seeing the magic that was coming from it. It was like rays of light were shining off of the edges. At first, it didn't seem all that different from other magical objects, until he saw something. The rays of magic converged in front of the amulet and formed a pair of hands. The hands then made a rather strange symbol, where the ring, pinky, and thumb were pressed together, the index was completely upright, and the middle finger was held at an angle. The sign that followed had the fingers (the pinky, ring, and thumb) touching and then slowly pulling apart.
(F/N) followed what was shown by the magic, and watched in awe as the middle of the amulet opened up! It was shining a bright light, shining onto (F/N). The magic in the middle of the amulet was powerful, intense, but calm nonetheless. Closing his third eye, and opening his regular set of eyes, he tried to look into the light, in the hopes of finding something, but he didn't see anything.
He did, however, start to hear something. Whispers in his ear the deeper he watched. He tried to interpret what they were saying, but he couldn't understand it. It was like some kind of other language. But there was something he could barely pick up.
"Absorb...magic?" He said to himself, speaking aloud what little whispers were there. "Reveal...the hidden...and...open...a pathway...to other dimensions?" It felt like there were a lot of people talking, each saying something to him in an attempt to communicate, but (F/N)'s concentration was broken when he heard the door open. He quickly turned his head and hid the amulet from sight, where he saw Luna walking in.
"Professor Flitwick is going to escort us to the astrology classroom for stargazing. Do you want to come?"
"Uh..." (F/N) began, tempted to go with her just to be by her, but at the same time sticking to what he was planning. "I...I think I'm just gonna turn in early." Luna didn't question him, just nodded her head.
"Okay. Good night," she said, before closing the door and leaving.
Following up on what he said, though not going to actually fall asleep, (F/N) sat on the edge of his bed and took a deep breath. He's done this only once, and he believed he had figured out how to push his astral body out.
Focusing on the mysterious magic surrounding him, he whipped his body forward like he was punched, and out came his astral body! His regular body fell onto the bed, eyes closed and in a believable sleeping position, he flew off. He exited the castle and started to fly around the outside, scanning the windows for any one of them that would lead to the Gryffindor dorm rooms.
Rounding one of the towers, (F/N) eventually found the open window, leading him to race forward to aid someone. When he reached the window sill, he saw Dhargey, Ron, and Hermione were surrounding Harry as he drank a sleeping potion.
"I take it I'm on time?" (F/N) asked. The four of them all jumped when they heard (F/N), turning to where he was and soon looking on in shock at his appearance.
"Bloody hell, he's dead!" Ron pointed out.
"I'm not dead," (F/N) answered, slowly floating forward to the group. "I'm just in my astral form. This will allow me to venture into Harry's dream." Dhargey approached and examined (F/N)'s astral body, while Hermione approached and swiped her hand through it.
