" you'll never guess who decided to turn up at set today. " joshua's voice came through my phone as i finished tidying up the last of my kitchen. he did suggest coming over, but after he told me how early he had to be awake the next day for the music video, i insisted he got an early night.

" try me. " i replied, leaning my phone against a vase and sitting down on the kitchen stool. i knew who he was going to say, but his displeased face gave me some hope that he hated it.

" emily, turned up with coffee and a sob story. " he scoffed, sitting down on his sofa and leaning his phone up how mine was.

" that coffee went straight in the bin. " he shook his head.

" hey! i made that. " i said, a laugh erupting from my lips but joshua gave me a confused look.

" she turned up at your work? " he asked, leaning forward to look at me better. i nodded my head in response and joshua shook his.

" unbelievable. did she say anything? "

" just how joshy is so humble for having a friend outside of hollywood and that she would tell you i said hi. " i shrugged, as if the interaction didn't bother me. it wouldn't of, if josh wasn't mentioned.

" i'm so sorry, that was so out of line. " josh apologised. his face was full of disbelief and i could see him thinking to himself.

" i did think halloween had came a little early, but it's fine. " i reassured him, but joshua's face remained the same.

" come on! i think i deserve to hear the song we're shouting a music video for tomorrow. " i said, wiggling my eyebrows at joshua.

" i don't have it on my phone, " he frowned for a second before his face lit up.

" but i do have a guitar. " he quickly ran off of the screen and i could hear his footsteps upstairs. was i about to be serenaded through the phone? seconds later, josh ran back into screen with a guitar in his hand.

he placed it on his lap, checking all of the strings were in tune as i watched.

" i feel special. " i chuckled, leaning back into the stool. his eyes were focused on the guitar, his eyebrows furrowed as he concentrated.

" you are special. " joshua said once he was finished. it took both of us by surprise, a small faulted on joshua's face but he quickly recovered.

" silence on the line. " he joked, clearing his throat before he began to play the chords. his eyes flicked between the guitar and me. how i wish this was in person.

the second he opened his mouth and began to sing i felt as though i was in heaven. joshua sang so effortlessly, he sounded like an angel. his eyes were concentrated on the guitar strings, only briefly looking up at me.

" making believe there's a future. is it naive to think we could work. " joshua looked up from his guitar and over to me as he sang the words. i felt as though my oxygen had been cut off. i could feel the tension through the screen and could only imagine what it would be like if he was infront of me.

" next to you, but i'll never be close. so take your time whilst your mine and smoke slow. " only when he started the second verse did joshua's eyes move away from me. i let out a shaky breath once his attention was back onto the guitar. i have no idea how i'm going to last seeing him doing the music video to this tomorrow. i might pass out.

" im telling you things, that i've never said. hope i don't regret this. " me and you both, josh.

" making believe that we're clueless. one little spark that we one put out. making a million excuses, cause isn't it fun just for now. " his attention back into me. each word sunk in. there was parts of this song that definitely applied to our situation, but joshua bassett wouldn't write a song about me. i was probably just overthinking it and getting myself all worked up.

" so take your time whilst you're mine, and smoke slow. " joshua strummed the guitar for a final time, both of us staring at the phone. part of me was glad this was over facetime, i would be a mess if he was in front of me right now.

" josh, that was amazing. " i pushed the thoughts that we're fighting their way through to the back of my mind and gave josh a smile. i felt truly lucky to be able to have these experiences with him.

" thankyou. " he said, putting the guitar down next to him and matching my smile. that smile.

" i better get going to sleep, i don't want any eye bags to show up on camera. " josh joked, picking up the phone. even through facetime i was still amazed by how handsome he was.

" of course, sleep well josh. " i said, blowing him a kiss which he pretended to catch.

" goodnight, dottie. " he said before hanging up the phone. i let out a breath. the day had been long, that's probably why i felt how i did.
