Carter

Chapter 1

My name is Carter, and this is my story and my world. My world is filled with dark and dangerous creatures of the supernatural.  Creatures that have been around for centuries that the humans used to tell their children about. The shadow hunters are very real, you never want to cross the path of the children of the angels. The Fae or as most people like to call them, Faires, you don't want to believe in their tricks. Every creature you believe to be myth or legend are very real, they just blended in with the natural world.

 My world is the real world, the world that the humans see is just what they want to see. They don't believe what they can't see. I'm a human or so I thought for most of my life. Again, my name is Carter, and my later name is Knight. No, I'm not a Fae. I'm half vampire and half human. I didn't find out that I was a vampire until I was 13 years old.  Before that I was adopted and raised by vampires.

I don't remember anything before I was five. The vampire family that took taken me in were the ones who had found me. I was a human living with vampires. These vampires never hurt me and no they don't sparkle like twilight, though I love the movies and books. I've read a lot of vampire books and watched a lot of movies. My favorite vampire books are vampire academy and favorite movie is queen of the damn. I also love lost boys, but I just love the idea of a vampire wanting to be a rockstar. I was just mere a human living with vampires and these vampires are my family and I've been trained to protect myself against the other vampires and creatures that walk this world. Until I was told the truth, don't worry we'll get to that part, or did I already say how old I was. 

Anyways there is one thing that I have come to learn over the years, I found out that I am half vampire and half human. How can this be you may ask? Well, the truth is that my father was a vampire, and he wasn't any normal vampire, but he was the coven leader of the vampires. The family that took me were good friends with my father, the reason why I know this because they had a picture of me with my parents, but I still don't remember anything before I was five.

You see unlike twilight version of how a vampire child came to be, a vampire and a human can have a child together. So, like a vampire and human can, a vampire born a vampire and another vampire who is born a vampire can. But a turned vampire cannot have a child. Get what I'm saying, but our vampire Scientist are working on something so that we all can have children. They already made fake blood like they did in that show called true blood.  

"Carter it's time to get up. You have school to get to and Jagger is on his way over. Ava, you need to get up as well," said my adopted mother.

My adopted mother is a vampire as I have said before. She is my mother no matter what anyone says because she raised me all these years. Jagger is the new covens' leader's nephew and let's just say his parents love me because I always keep Jagger out of trouble. In my group of friends there is me, Ava, now Ava has long black hair, that she's colored the tips white, she had blue eyes, and her skin is pale. Ava has a brother who is older than her and his name is Alexand, or Alex for short. Alex and Ava look just alike but Alex hair is black, but he has piercings and tattoos, and his eyes are green.

Jagger has black hair and green eyes that glow in the dark. Of course, Jagger has light pale skin and he's taller than me by two inches. Alex and Jagger are the same height and Ava, and I are shorter than the boys.

After I got up and changed into skinny jeans and a black shirt, I quickly put on my makeup and grabbed my shoes and headed downstairs. If you were wondering if vampires can walk out in daylight, they can. There are some things in the myths about vampires that is and isn't true. They can walk in day light; garlic doesn't bother them but holy water hurts like hell. They also feed on blood or the energy of the humans. Yet most of them feed on the blood of the humans or dink the redlight V that the scientist made.

"Carter be careful out their because I heard that the hunters are in the area," Warned my mom.

I nodded my head an walked out the door and into a black charger where Jagger and Alex were already waiting. I sighed while we were waiting on Ava. I pulled my long black hair that the tips are blue and green over my right shoulder. I glanced at myself in the mirror and noticed that my hazel blue eyes were normal. My skin isn't pale as a vampire but it's also not a normal skin tone a human would have but a bit lighter. Sighing I look up and noticed that Jagger was watching me. I glared and looked away from him.

Jagger and I have this thing were we both like each other but at the same time we don't. He dated someone in our past. That person did and since then he hasn't dated anyone.  We don't really like each other but everyone in school thinks we are dating.  I keep telling everyone that I only get a ride to school with him because of Alex but no one listens to me. All the girls think they have a chance with him, even the vampire girls do, but everyone knows that his heart is closed off from every because of the fact that two years ago, his girlfriend was killed by hunters and the sad part is that his girlfriend Maze was carrying his child. His parents were angry at him for a month and then they were happy. Maze was a sister to me and Ava. I miss her. 

Oh yes, the hunters. They are a pest. They don't realize they most of us are born vampires not turned. Most vampires have turned a vampire in a long time unless they fall in love, and they want that love for the rest of their lives or they conceive a child, and they want to be around for their child. Lately the hunters have been in the wind which isn't good or anyone one of us, vampires, Fae, wolves, or even mermaids or any creatures for that matter. 

Alex has girlfriend named Angel and she is your normal gothic slash punk slash random girl. She loves to switch up her look every day. We don't see eye to eye because she always thinks that I'm after Alex though I've told her a million times that I was his sister though not blood related sister, but still his sister. She doesn't believe me. 

Ava has a boyfriend who is friends with Alex and Jagger. He looks like the guys named Reed from that move called the Covenant. We always called him Reed, but his name is Jack, and Jack's family is very powerful.

The door to the car opened and Alex said, "About time sis. Did you get lost or something?"

Jagger laughed and Ava looked at us and said, "I took my time. It's hard to look this good and besides unlike miss Car I like to look hot for my man."

Ugh she had to say something didn't she. That's right there this guy at school whose name is Tommy that's been trying to get me to go out with him every day. I tell him no and walk away and lately he's been stalking me to the point where I've tried to hide away from him.

"Car is it Tommy again?" asked Alex.

I didn't answer but when I looked up in mirror that's in the car, Jagger has a dark look on his face. I looked away because I didn't want to talk about it.

"Car, you know that he's bothering you, you can come to me, and I'll teach the blood bag to leave you alone," said Alex.

"It doesn't matter Alex. He doesn't mean anything to me, but we can't cause trouble in school. Besides I've been thinking about saying yes to him, but then again, I'm going to turn him down," I said as I looked out the widow and the charger started up and we were off to school.
