Carter's POV
After I had taken my pills, I walked back into the dining room, and I noticed that everyone has been talking. I took my seat and Jagger looked at me and said, "Are you okay Carter?"
I smiled and nodded my head. I finished eating when Lady Eve looked at me and said, "So my dear Carter next week is your birthday, so are you going to move in with them on your birthday or the day after?"
"I haven't deiced when just yet, but I was thinking maybe that Friday would be best so I can get to know my cousins," I said.
James looked at me and said, "What would be good. What do you think May?"
May sighed and said, "That would be good. But the kids have a game that day. But I guess she could come and move in that day and when the kids get home, they can get to know her. Carter dear, do you play any sports?"
"No. I don't like sports, but I used to be a cheerleader when I was middle school, but it got boring after a while," I said.
Alex, Jagger, and Ava laughed. They knew how I felt about sports, but my father sighed and said, "Children can you please stop that laughing before Carter starts getting mad."
"It's okay father, at least I wasn't kicked off the team for a season because someone broke their damn arm in a fight with a kid from another team," I said.
Alex stopped laughing and glared at me and said, "But they started it. They were eyeing Ava during the first half of the game and then when we had a break, they started to try and hurt her. We had to do something."
Ava laughed and said, "You guys got mad because someone from another school wanted to talk to me and I couldn't because it was wrong. And also, Carter, they did help because after the game those guys started to stalk me."
Everyone laughed but James and May. I sighed and looked at them and said, "Reason why it was funny is because Ava can defend herself. Lord knows that she's taken our friend Jack downloads of times, and he's stronger than most of the kids at our school."
"So do you know how to defend yourself?" James asked me.
"Yeah, but I don't really have to worry about someone trying to kidnap me. At least not in this town or in the city," I said.
"Why is that?" Asked May.
"It's because our families are well known within this town and in the cities. We have relatives and close friends that works all over," said my mother
Jagger looked at me and I knew that he was starting to worry about few things, and I understand what they were doing. They were trying to know everything about me and only few people know the real me.
"So, Carter you don't play sports, then what do you do?" May asked.
I sighed and looked at Jagger, Alex and Ava and we all smiled and said, "Play video games if we get bored. I play a lot of games, also I draw from time to time, read books, and mostly work on homework and listen to music."
James said, "What type of music?"
"All kinds. I can't just listen to one type," I said.
An hour later everyone was done eating, and we were all sitting down and talking. The questions finally stopped, or at least for me they did. I was starting to get tired, and my father was glancing at me from time to time. I sighed knowing that if I stay awake any longer, I'll be of no use to anyone.
Lady Eve looked over at me and said, "Carter dear, are you getting tired?"
I sighed and said, "I am Aunt Eve. I think it's because of the pills that I have been taking lately."
My father sighed and said, "It was a long day. You've been up all night. Ava, can you help your sister off to bed?"
Ava was about to get up, but Jagger stood up and said, "Sir may I help Carter up to her room. I believe that Carter has our project paper for school that I need take home and look over them."
Alex, Ava, me, my parents and aunt and uncle knew that was a lie. May looked at us like she knew that Jagger was lying. James didn't seem to mind that Jagger was walking me to my room. I started to walk to the stairs with Jagger on my heals without anyone saying anything.
Once I reached my room and sat on my bed. Jagger shut and locked my door and walked over to me and said, "How do you feel about everything?"
I looked at him and said, "I hate their rules but it's better than nothing. I want to know my mother and her side of the family. Yet I have a feeling that I'm going to be unwelcome in that house. Jagger I'm scared."
"Just wait until you meet the rest of the family at the end of the week. You'll be moving in with them, but I'll always be here for you whenever you need me. Now I am going to take your bag since 'our project' is in the bag. I'll pick you up tomorrow like I always do okay," said Jagger.
