After dinner Jagger walked in and said that he was sorry for walking out. I wanted to talk to him but it seemed as if he knew that they knew about what happened. I looked away from him and sighed. Ava was on her phone texting Jack while my parents were talking with both of my aunts and uncles.

Alex sat next to me and said, "You okay sis?"

"Yeah, why wouldn't I be?" I asked him. 

"It's because they know about Maze," said Alex.

"It's just not that. It seems that Lucy has it out for me and I don't know about the others. I wanted to know them, but it seems like it won't happen. Alex, do you think that I am making a mistake?" I asked him.

"Carter Rose Knight Fallen, you are not making a mistake. I know that you want to know of your mother side of the family. You know your fathers and what we are and now its time for you to know of your mothers side. After all your birthday is coming up. I heared that Jagger is taking the trials soon," Said Alex.

"What? Jagger is takening the trials, does that mean what I think it does?" asked Ava.

Alex and I laughed and said, "Yes."

Lucy looked up and said, "Trials?"

Ava gave her a dirty look and said, "Its a test that our family does to see who is more fit to run the company. After all Carter already took those trials and now Jagger is going to be taking them."

"Oh. So Carter that question I asked you about Jagger what do you mean its compactied ? Does he have a girlfriend or do you have a boyfriend? Are you two dating or something?" Asked Lucy.

I sighed and said, "Nothing to worry about. No jagger doesn't have a girlfriend and I do not have a boyfriend. Jagger and I are talking about going together. But there is more to it than that. I've grown up with Jagger. Of course, if we decided to date, I wouldn't have to worry about what his parents would think of me. "

Lucy and John looked at each other and John said, "What do you mean?"

Jagger looked up and spoke, "My parents would like for us to be together when we deiced that the time is right. Therefore its compacted because of the fact that Maze told Carter that she needs to be with me."

"But why Carter? You can have anyone that you want?" said Lucy.

I started to get mad. Jagger looked at me and back at Lucy and said, "Miss Lucy I wouldn't want anyone else that isn't Carter. She is everything to me. Maze and I were at a party and got drunk. We lied to everyone saying that we have been seeing each other for months before she found out about the baby. Maze at the time when I told everyone watched as Carter slowly walked away from us. She locked herself away for months. She wouldn't come to the family dinners or meetings. The only time I saw her was when we were at school. Maze saw her all the time. Maze would tell me how she was doing and then one night I got sick of seeing Carter down that I asked her to meet me at the park we used to go to and then we got into an argument. Then I didn't see her until after they were kidnapped. Maze was gone and Cater was in the hospital for 45 days or more. She wasn't moving or anything. Later I found out that she tried to protect Maze and the baby, that's why she was beaten. Maze got loose and tried to fight, but the monsters killed her."

Jagger took a deep breath and said, "Carter is brave and the only one that will hold my heart. It hurts me every day since the argument that we had, that I had hurt her the way I did. She didn't need that, and we have talked about what happened and slowly becoming friends. Now Lucy as for being Carters cousin I would like it that you don't ask again."

Then Jagger walked over to me and hugged me and said, "I'm sorry. If I could go back in time I would in a heartbeat."

"Its okay Jagger, I forgave you long ago. Maze told me what happened. I'm sorry," I said to him.
